It is simply much faster and increases gas mileage. It is fantastic. If you're a 'purist' you shouldn't even be talking about new cars, get yourself a 944 cup/Boxter cup, get an SCCA/NASA license and practice your racecraft. Let the new technology be new technology. Eventually you'll learn that there's no stopping the techno train, and when you're getting smoked on the racetrack by DC transmissions driven by otherwise equal cars, you will want one too.

still prefer the short shift manual, you can shift just as fast and the feel going into corners is much better with the manual. See my vid carrera s cab short shift.

Believe me ive been on several track days with my c2s and im still quicker per lap, probably not quite on straights but coming into corners and tricky bends. Thats why they didnt make the new mk2 GT3 with PDK.

They tested the TT manual VS a TT DSG and the DSG won on a track and in straight line ... is PDK slower than DSG ?

ya shifting is not as efficient or as fast. However it gives you the real feel of control an enthusiast needs and I would sacrifice .22 seconds of efficiency to know I have control of the cars shifting.
