Nice looking Catfish. You'll always have problems keeping other fish with it though, unless they are as big as the cat is, or you have an extremely large tank with lots of hiding places for the smaller fish and even then some will get eaten. Catfish are predators and will eat any fish that they can catch and will fit in their mouth and will try to eat some that don't. You do know that that Catfish will get several feet long in time, right?

Years ago(b4 I knew better), I made the same mistake of putting a RTC in with my two juvy Oscars. I must have fed it almost a whole bag of fresh prawns - it was rocking on its belly. Then I went to bed, in the morning...no O's, the RTC must've had as a desert to follow his main meal of prawns....Bastard. Had to get rid of it in the end, cos they need a massive tank to thrive.

You fail as a fish hobbiest. I doubt you realize that a rtc will get over 3ft in length and very robust. A proper size aquarium for an adult will have to be at least 400g. Did the RTC outgrow the 125Gal. yet? About 8 months ago probably? I've got a 350 Gal and wouldn't think of putting a RTC in it. Fish gets too damn big. There is no limit to a large catfishs growth. Unless you plan on eating them when they outgrow the tank. Fish are food for fish, but also food for us. Could be the revenge for your oscar. After all, how else would you get to taste an Amazonian catfish?

Within a year that redtail will grow large enough to eat full size oscars and other adult cichlids. I had my 20" RTC eat my beloved and pricey 17" Knifefish... I didn't think he could do it. RTC is gone now...

A smart person would not put a fish that size in with a smaller fish, i did 4 weeks of research before adding my Tandanus in with my Oscar.. I had to learn how big it had to be, how big it couldnt be, what the risks where etc. It was a lot of research. And they get along fine. If i hadnt of done research.. My catfish would probably be dead right now.
