I feel sorry for the likes of Roy and Peg Ivey. They really have been such consistent performers all throughout their career, but in the last few years the sport has become a young man's game. It truly is a shame.

I can see why they are world champions, for a moment I forgot it was a canoe and it became a dolphin but with wings, then the winged dolphin canoe beast wasn't flying or swimming, it was floating as if weightless and suspended in a plane between sky and water.

I grew up in canoes so I know just how increadibly impressive some of the things they do in this routine are. that side-slip (bow rudder-stern rudder right?) at 4:05-ish was beautiful. the few times I've done that move I've had to really have the canoe cooking fast and I had to brace my paddle on the gunwale to keep it in place. these two make it look easy I was surprised to see it work with the canoe moving so slow. and the way they just held their paddles straight up and down = just WOW!
