  • Fantastic Song - Fantastic Message!!

    "Touch The Screen!!"

  • For the longest time, I thought this was a serious song, about Phil's love for Jesus, because I could never understand the verses. Oh, poor deluded youth. ;) Well played Genesis, well played.

  • Yeah. Although there are still a lot of people out there who think it has an antiChristian message, when that's not what it's about at all. It's against unscrupulous charlatans like Benny Hinn who are aware that there's "good money in the name of the Lord."

  • @Cotygeek Yeah...Benny Hinn is one for the todays audience. But hippocrsy on that guy is HUGE!!! hes got millions, got his own airplane jet, checks into expensive hotels, travels with posse, fancy dinners....theres bills for that!

PLUS! him and his wife divorced in 2010 and hes been keeping that quiet..and it turns out he was having inappropriate relations with fellow "preacher" Paula White, photo'd holding hands in Rome, coming out of a hotel!! I cant believe people like are let to continue!

  • Don't worry dude, I thought the same thing when I heard it the first time at the age of 11.

  • 1:50 2:10 is the scariest thing Ive ever seen! Love the ending - touch the screen, in the name of jey-sus!

  • For along time I didn't mind televangelists. Fleecing dumb people out of their money is what capitalism is all about. I just saw it as a tax on stupidity. Now I think differently!

  • The evangelists are in it for the money.

The Catholic priests are in it for the alter boys.

I have more respect for the evangelists. Can you blame the lion for eating a sheep? They only fleece those who want to be fleeced.

  • HA HA but how many altar boys are out there? - a few thousands - while evangelists are fleecing tens of millions of people including the very sick and those dependent on their social security checks...and don't forget about evangelists screwing up kids, women, and homos such as haggert, tony alamo, jim baker, david koresh, etc...just a thought

  • Erm... I think David Koresh was a bit beyond evangelism to be honest! He was more psychotic than swindler. Everything else you said is true though.

  • i grew up with this song

    i love it :)

  • I'm a Christian and I agree with the message in this video and song. The Devil wants to corrupt the message of the Gospel, and what better way than to use corrupt preachers? Some televangelists are good, though. I don't think Joel Osteen is corrupt.

  • He does not preach the centrality of the Gospel.

  • Tony on the wireless phone = priceless

  • And also Mike in the bathroom stall...

  • theres nothing wrong with white collar crime

    dont knock it

  • Thank You Jim Baker (LOL)

  • 3:18 LOVE IT!!!! ;D

  • i can always remember my dad belting this tune out goin up the m25 windows down singing his head off while im in my car seat im 20 now and love this song. sing it at wrk to everyone its great always puts a smile on my face. LOVE IT

  • Yeah this song wasn't bashing the Christian Faith. It was as some have said the frauds, fakes, and liars who flooded TV with their supossed ministries. I am a Christian and these kinds of people give us all a bad name. Ones like Jim Baker, Jimmy Sweigart among others were 'outted' around this time.

  • I agree with you. They think if they're Jesus! They gave priests a bad name!

  • I can't STAND televangilists.

  • "And the lord said to me:'Get me 18.000.000 $ by the weekend.'" :D))

  • get on your knees and start paying, to nice :D

  • Genesis is truly a great legend and this song is amazing!!

  • Wow!! That's truly an amazing revelation. I believe the LORD IS TALKING TO ME NOW! Alarm bells!! Does this preacher not remind you of the one on GOD TV and many other Christian Channels, Like you ask - well I say, BENNY HINN!!Oops!

  • I only wrote what Phil is saying in the beginning. He critizises any "priest" trying to make money with the Christian faith. For me it's a shame, although I'm not Christian at all, but a Buddhist.

  • This song and vid is AMAZING!!!!! Genesis was always very cool.

  • Wow!

  • Ow i love it

  • This is a really great song. Genesis is a great band and Phill Collins has made great songs.

  • I've loved this song since the first time I heard it, which was Christmas Day of 1991(one of my gifts was, of course, "We Can't Dance") and I spent the next 8 months hoping this would be a single. I saw Genesis in concert in 1992, and this little poke-in-the-eye of Jimmy Swaggart & his ilk becomes a full-on slap in the face when performed live! Oh, one more thing: I think Phil wears the same wig he did when he played a tv preacher at the end of his 1985 guest appearance on MIAMI VICE!

  • Huckabee 2008. Window pane cross - Jesus taught Mike that.

    Genesis 3:26

  • i love the bit where theres a sign with "genesis 3:25" on it, because genesis 3 only goes up to 24 =P

  • What a great man! <:^)

  • @ 2:20 is that Iranian President Ahmadinejad!?

    Am i right?

  • No dude, it's just Mike Rutherford with a wig on. Although when i went back and looked again, I can see the resemblance.

BTW, MRX? that sign was kind of a tongue-in-cheek gag, because Genesis had only 3 members for the majority of thier time together, which at the time had been 25 years!

  • lol! yeah.

  • Class song.

  • Did Ernie really try to sue him for this vid? Wouldn't surprize me, more greed, more lust of the moneeeeeey! The love of money (greed) is the root of all evil!

  • Chinese loved money all the time that they're rich. So they're evil!

  • woke up today whistling this tune for some strange strange reason :-) Is Peter Gabriel on the current tour? are these guys still making albums?

  • Goddamn I love this song. Probably my favorite of theirs. I'm so glad they didn't ruin this video like they ruined Land Of Confusion.

  • this fucking rox lmao i have this album

  • "Ill get you everything you wanted ..

Ill get you everything you need..

Don't need to believe in hereafter ..

    Just believe in me."

Too true with the snake-oil salesmen in a faux cloth of God. Genesis nailed this 1980's televangelist movement perfectly.

  • NO IGLESIAS

  • hahaha

  • omg when the member of Genesis on video 1 they all sing like Phil that's awesome they'll have talent in singing LMAO

  • omg the person on the organ that sings "and he knows I'm right" through the chorus the 1st time through he looks like some person on I see on the morning announcements oh wait school almost over WHOO HOO SUMMER I LOOKING FORWARD TO CAMPING AND ALOT OF OTHER opps I'm getting ahead of myself sry lol

  • my parents are going to both of their concerts

  • lol what gone wrong with Mike did he gone Gay or Bisexual lol I know who he is I know all the members

  • lol I found the end funny TOUCH THE SCREEN HEAL TOUCH THE SCREEN and the guys r dragging him off lmao

  • True to life and sad that it is.

  • Im an old era genesis fan but i must admit this song makes me laugh, phil is an entertainer, he reminds me of `del boy` im english but even i know what he`s singing about! only in america eh!! luvin the vid :-)

  • il migliore!

  • your full of it your just mocking christians

  • Please, I'm Christian but I hate those fake priests on TV trying to get some money. I believe in GOD, I try to follow Jesus's path, not some pinko stealing my money on TV.

    Think before getting online.

  • sso am i watch who you send money too that is why good people like ed montgomery and dennis lenard are not on bet anymore

  • I agree.
