I think it's important to adapt to these shoes slowly and gradually. If you don't you run the risk of some nasty soreness, plantar fasciatis, and soleus/gastroc pain. If you can do that then these shoes can be great for strengthening the feet and calves as well as avoiding other running injuries long term. Watching Heather run is easy on the eyes. :-)
Your calves will be fried for the first month or so, but it's a rite of initation. In the beginning you tend to emphasize the toes, but as your form develops you start to use the midfoot more, but still stay away from the heel. You just sort of have to relax yourself from the waist down and your feet will tell you how to run properly, that's what I've found so far.
