@Kneufin Generally speaking, its an LED light source that is in the pre-amp/electronics compartment with fiber optic strands running through the inside of the neck and out letting to the inlay holes. I suppose it could also be done with individual LEDs in the dot markers, but that would still require running wires through the neck. If your bass doesnt already have it, it would be a very expensive upgrade. Getting built into a high end bass in the first place wouldnt cost too much extra.
