  • Why Jonny's so overrated and Ed's sooooo underrated? Ed and Colin (and so Phil) are so far underrated.

  • @panu7 no way. Lucky actually isn't that fast of a song. They always seem to play things faster i.e. I Might Be Wrong is a good example

  • is it me or they played it kind of slow??? sound beautiful anyway

  • love 'em

  • nesta musica eu me sinto em mim.....

  • Not more justin beiber jokes to get "likes" That scheme is getting old.

  • Unbelievably beautiful.

  • OK Computer was their best album, man it's one of the best albums from the 90's... Amazing band.

  • I'm so Lucky I found Radiohead... They really are All I Need. Call me a Creep, but Everything's In It's Right Place when I listen to one of their songs. I Just can't help it. But, No Surprises there, really. I'm probably just Optimistic, but I'm sure any other fan feels the same way. I Might Be Wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's true.

  • @Tyger2393

    haha great man;)

  • Nah man, i think you're right, it's not like you said 2+2=5, then we'd have to call the frickin Karma Police on your ass, and they'd be Climbing Up The Walls and everything. Just be a little more careful ;D

  • @Tyger2393 YOU are JUST like an IRON LUNG to all radiohead fans everywhere.don't GIVE UP THE GHOST,but me,i am a PARANOID ANDROID but i SULK because i am 12 and never saw radiohead live,i am CLIMBING UP THE WALLS because of it,something is acting like a SEPARATOR.

  • @Tyger2393 100% AGREED....and i,m so Lucky to be a fan of Radiohead!!!

  • @Tyger2393 Shut up.

  • @Tyger2393 epic

  • I'ts going to be a glorious day..

  • his left eye was fused shut by a magical bolt of lightening flown straight from hyper space.

  • I'm proud to say that I bought this album in 97 when it came out and this song left a lasting impression on me. This song was me, I was this song.

  • Radiohead = The Pink Floyd of our generation!

  • @nelson581 I agree.

  • @nelson581 I think their is no comparison... their in a league of their own. Like you can't find no other artist like Pink Floyd...you can't find other artist like Radiohead. Just pale intimations.

  • @nelson581 stop comparing

  • @nelson581 That's a bit of an insult isn't it?

  • @nelson581

    Love Radio Head...Love them

But, let's be real.....Just because music has sucked for the last 20+ years doesn't make Radiohead better.

Not even the same fn sport as Floyd

  • @nelson581 i deeply dislike these comparisons and the reason is, that music is supposed to be timeless. There's no pink floyd of our generation, because pink floyd is still very much relevant and will be for a very long time. i wish people looked at music more objectively. radiohead and pink floyd are both original enough to be praised based on their own merits.

  • @nelson581 except they are doing all they can to avoid the stadiums :)

  • "The head of the state..has called for me by name..but I don't have time for him." BRILLIANT

  • @okkanane is that really the line?

  • buena cancion !!!!

  • ed is one sexy mofo ;D

  • muuuuuuuuito boa

    Very good

  • amazing performance..however i like it better when ed sings "oooOOO" instead of "eyyyYY" haha....its true though

  • i feel bad for johnnys neck

  • LOVE 3:20-4:00

  • incredible guitar sound

  • awesome listen to my son and his friend do a cover of this song its not very good quality it was filmed on a phone

  • dry yer eyes girl pull yourself together!

  • goddamn! ed sings like gold in this!!

  • frickin love them!!!!!!!!

  • He is fantastic live and I have to say he looks good in this video... you know, for being Thom Yorke.

  • This song makes me cry, aways.

  • I fuckin LOVE this song!....Radiohead..IS art

Thom Yorke IS A Musical Fuckin Genius !!!

  • If I were forced to choose between Radiohead and the Beatles, I'd think about it, then choose Radiohead

  • @wartravs22 yeah radioheads very good but dont make any rash decisions and say radiohead is better then the beatles. id say they are both good in their own ways

  • Radiohead transport me... I <3 them and am a little bit obsessed I fear..:)

  • a stunning song by an incredible band, i think thats all that needs to be said

  • never seen thom play a rick before

  • eve

    trulobgüeyts

  • ok computer, one of the best albums in the world!!!!

  • yes his head f**s every other bands...coz he's a genius

  • omar..........way to rebutt.

  • nati per fare musica

  • deep and dark place. I am standing on the edge...they are my superheroes transporting me to the negative utopia.

  • well you should be able to tell

  • I love the wah-wah effect Jonny uses at 1:40

  • isn't that awesome, wonder what sort of tremolo that is

  • I love the way he smiles when he sings the line "The head of state has called for me by name, but I dont have time for him"

  • best sound check i heard, propal performance !!

  • passion in his voice!

  • Only a few bands in the world can transmit such a mood.. And what a beautiful guitar

  • incredible. they came from outer space.

  • so many little details...that makes something that seems so simple...so amazingly simple and true...unbelievable band, because I can say this thing about every single song from them...I just love Radiohead :))

  • same man

  • @osano wax urself :P

  • @osano and alas,EVERYTHING IN IT'S RIGHT PLACE

  • what a fucking tune. So much atmosphere in this, makes the hairs on the back of the neck stand up.

  • @tommyaw123 Funny... I get the same kind of feeling when i listen to Radiohead's songs ^^

  • @tommyaw123 great synopsis. exactly what i feel.

  • sometimes i feel sorry for Ed... just playing that naff little headstock thing all the way through, i mean he could loop it with all those pedals at his disposable but then - he does that awesome backing vocal that just makes the song and you realise why he's as important as the other four

  • your so right it's the contributions by all of them that make it so special, probably more attention to detail than anyone before and no ego!

  • what you on about:? he just plays that at the start, you can see quite clearly he's strumming along like normal with Thom for the most part of the tune?!?!

  • he doesn´t play that thing all the way through. And I love that Radiohead does things like that, they add so much layers to their music!

  • Got It In One!

  • kill ME sarah

  • is he reading my mind? kill me sarah? how did he take that from my mind? how did he know to put that! thats incredible. exactly what im feeling. thank you. thom yorke.

  • ed looks so cute!

  • need see john frusciante singing this song.

  • Love Ed's vocals 3:59-4:20.

  • yeah, sounds fucking amazing

  • I think this is their best song written in the Bends era.

(before you start slagging me off, Lucky was written for the Help! album in 1995 and was regularly in setlists since then.)

  • I love radiohead

  • just randomnly adding to the guitarists argument

hendrix and vaughn and gilmour only played guitar, especially hendrix and vaughn whereas ed and johnny play a lot of instruments so they're not really guitarists but it is their main instrument so you know thats not to say that because the others only play guitar they're not musicians though

  • You couldent be more wrong dude. David Gilmour can play just as much if not more than jhonny. He is fluent in piano, bass, and drums. and did i mention Gilmour has an amazing voice?

Im sorry but their is no compairison...

  • jonny its better music compuser than gilmour

  • gilmour actually plays a whole range of string istruments, and can also play the sax, but yeh i know what your sayin ed and johnny spread there talent over the instruments, an radiohead isnt really about amazing guitar skills and crazy solos lol its more just the amazing music as a whole, its different and sumthin special

  • but does he play the ondes martenot? thats what i thought. as much as i love pink floyd. i love roger waters and syd barrett more. they were the musicians in my opinion. sorry if offend anyone.

  • Gracias por el ánimo.

  • ESPECTACULAR!

  • was this marked as spam just because it's italian?!

  • Maestros!

    Me pongo de pie...

  • Thom is of course brilliant beyond words musically, but one great thing about this '97 version of Lucky is Thom has the tendency to chronically experiment with his vocal delivery with older songs that probably bore him a bit now, and a lot of the vocals on more modern Lucky performances aren't nearly as focused as this...you could tell this was when he was still feeling the original emotion of the song. The vocals are delivered in that pristine, drawn-out glory of the original. Ace version.

  • all of them are brilliant

  • ok hows this: Jonny Greenwood-most underrated and underappreciated guitarist of the last 30 years?

  • WhoKilledCallo,

I disagree. Greenwood is underappreciated yes, and he's off the charts innovative...but he gets credit in the right circles...THEE MOST underappreciated guitarist of recent times is Ed OBrien.....because Jonny Greenwood has ENORMOUS stage presence...your eye is drawn to him and therefore people assume he's making all the stunning guitar sounds, meanwhile Ed, who has far less stage presence, is actually making half the sounds misattributed to Greenwood. The band needs both.

  • yes i agree with you on that, greenwood is appreciated and gets credit by radiohead fans, but i think the broader public he is quite unkown. comared to slash, van halen, page, hammett, he gets almost no credit. but yes obrien too, very underappreciated, i was not knocking him at all, just giving greenwood a rap

  • Ed and Jonny aren't guitarists... they're musicians

  • yes they are......... youre trying to sound all sage and wise here. but they are guitarists. would you say that roger federer isn't a tennis player, hes a sportsman?

  • I'm saying that they make whatever SOUND is necessary for the song to sound the way it does. I dunno, you're free to disagree with me... I just can't group them as traditional 'guitarists' like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, et al.

  • yeah i agree with you that they arent like those guitarists, theyre all the big solo, front man players. but theyre also musicians, it doesnt mean theyre not guitarists. ed and jonny dont play like thoses guys, but no matter what, they play guitar, theyre guitarists.

  • well in fact Jonny plays 11 instruments. So if i had to define him, i would call him musician.

I agree with ComradeNu, Ed and Jonny do things on stage that no other well-known "guitarrist" do. Ed plays guitar and makes awesome effects, and Jonny... well he is a monster, can play guitar, keyboard and percussion all on the same song (there there, reckoner, here in lucky). You don't see that in every band...

    Very talented Musicians and guitarrists.

  • playing is different than mastering, which jonny has done with the guitar

i think of him as a guitarist who happens to play 10 other instruments.

  • well he started playing harmonic, and then the guitar. 2 instruments he masters.

And the piano? 3 instruments. Ondes? 4 instruments he masters.

I think of him as a very lucky guy, he has a gift with music.

  • they're the real musicians who play guitar and other instruments

  • yea, but RS did include him on there list of greatest guitarists, and hes like my second fav guitarist haha

  • the last 30 seconds of this song are just amazing

  • wow jonny's guitar without all the scratches and other stickers!

  • WOW SENTENCE FRAGMENT!!

  • such a beautiful song

  • ed and thom love the rickies

  • damn Ed did a great job!

  • OK Computer......greatest album of all time

  • I loved Lucky for years for its melancholic, ominous, heavily downtrodden tone and then I read Thom saying how he thought Lucky was their happiest song. That threw me a bit, lol. But then, I had never really paid much attention to the lyrics as a whole... *blushes*

Still can't think of it as happy per se... But it's still my fav Radiohead song.

  • well when he said that he was being a bit ironic, he said something like it was as happy as a Radiohead song gets. The song talks about finding hope in love amidst all this other shit that goes on in the world.

  • This song is for sure one of the best song Radiohead ever made. Personally when i heard it for first time it made me feel euphoric. Even though we may say that the song remains sad and doesn't sound happy at all. Who could say that Radiohead has many happy songs? I personally don't know any, but still when i listen to York's voice the feeling i get is far from sadness. I get high listening to Radiohead while my friends say that bend sounds depressive.

    Sorry for my english level

  • ya know...the whole "its gonna be a glorious day" stuff?

    great song :)
