When I saw the headline of Garcia's death on the front page of the Calcutta (India) Telegraph, I almost fell out of my chair. I still have that sick feeling of loss, so many years later. Probably will the rest of my life. But soon our band will be bringing the Dead's legacy to a new generation of Indians.

Huh? at 3:12 ?  --- they cut their last studio work "some 16 years ago?" --- maybe he meant to say "6 years ago" .... 1989's "Built To Last".

I drove 42 hours from West Virginia to Haight street. By the time I got there, Ben and Jerrys had a sign up reading,"Please don't ask, we are out of Cherry Garcia." Thank you for posting this, it helps ease my soul...

ahhh this sucks watching this :( but thanks for posting! I haven't seen this report yet. I was still mourning K.C. when this happened, I didn't discover the dead until after my uncle died and I got to pick out some of his CD's that I wanted, that's where I found skeletons in the closet, and well i can't imagine never knowing the dead.. Cherry Garcia is my #1 ice cream then chunky monkey and 3rd phish food... The music never stopped!!
