Everyone to their own taste. They are the only punk band (I would class them as punk, though many would disagree) that I prefer their later stuff to their earlier. I love early Clash, for example, but went off them when they became just a rock band (London Calling and later).

...well Hugh was one of the founder members and left in August 1990 citing differences with other band members and a desire for a solo career.

My personal opinion is that the the band lost one of their best talents at this moment.....he was the man :-)

If it wasn't for this show I would have never heard of the Stranglers and all the other punk and new wave bands like the Pretenders who are nowadays played on classic rock radio.
