@RufusT9 - Yes, all that experimental post-punk stuff from the late 70s has dated very well
and still sound fresh and wierd. Glad I can now listen to this on a non-perishable format.
The music conjures up all sorts of visuals in the air for me - numbers, keyboards, tape-loops, studios and just sheer indulgent creativity. It's a bit like old stlye Electro - the old stuff just sounds much better and hands on and than all this 'convenient' stuff now.
I first heard this in 1984 on a tape of a radio show David Bowie did in the 70s called 'I am a DJ' This was among his chosen music pieces - he has such eclectic and fantastic tastes and it got me into leftfield music and film from then on.
@Lighthazzles remember this BBC radio programme- sometime in 1979? Bowie suggested if we didn't like it we went off to the kitchen & made an omelette instead. The part beginning 12:05 literally knocked me off my feet- I'd never heard anything quite like this before. With only a snatch of it on a C30 cassette, I wrote to the BBC asking what it was, but it took me 4 years to find the album. If I remember correctly, FZ and Sparks also took part in this radio series
is this the Laurie Anderson version?
