The best thing for gravity blasts is a drum trigger unit since it doesnt matter if you dont hit hard enough. I personally put a lot of energy into drumming and avoid boring techniques like this. Just pick up your sticks and smack shit out of the drums, but concentrate. And there's nothing wrong with using your arms aswell as your wrists / fingers, you just need stamina and strength ^_^
Pro Tip: when making a drum video make sure both ends of the stick are visible...
