Strip away the epic concept album format of 80's Metallica, and leave the rhythm attack, and you have Testament. I think they might be the purest thrash band ever, in the sense that it's stripped down, with no extraneous bullshit added to it. It's like freebase thrash.

Megadeth has players like Cacophony's Marty Friedman, Jag Panzers/NEVERMORE'S Chris Broderick, etc. The drums are far better. Megadeth songs take a week to learn, metallica songs take 2 days max. (i've been playing for 20 years. So I'm not putting metallica down. JUDAS PRIEST OMG, THAT WOULD BE SOOO EPIC. I LOVE em!

@placeboeffecto Ya, those songs are good, especially Head Crusher. I am more of a Killing Is My Business, Peace Sells, So Far So Good, Rust In Peace, Countdown, and Youthanasia megadeth fan. Lol, its what I grew up on. Metallica (LARS, JAMES, and Bob Rock) sold us all out for cash in 1991, and even worse in 1995. I was a metallica fanatic, I didn't like Megadeth back in the 80's, but when they (metallica) dropped the ball, Megadeth seemed better to me. I fell in love with Pantera then too.
