I just bought the game a few days ago. Then bought the DLC. I am playing with Permadeath OFF. I wanna beat the game in an easy manner, as I have died several times before floor 4. My second play through I WILL be doing Permadeath.

I got this game yesterday, never played a "roguelike" game before, must say the review made me intrested in the game. After playing it for a couple of hours i must say i do enjoy it, i havent been able to get far tho, usally die in a very lame way aswel :P but at least im having fun ^^

Iv been getting my head around video editing. Im using X264 codec with Virtual Dub.

My 3 MoH vids - The 11min vid. The one with rolling credits was actually smaller in size than the other 4-5min ones. All to do with how much motion and color is on screen, was the reason.

But like iv said, MSI Afterburner is amazing and was a pleasant surprise.

I've been wondering about the Wii game Baroque, I saw you recommended it, but it has a very low metacritic score so I've kind of been holding off when I found it used..and recently I haven't found it used in any gamestops around here, now that I WANT to play it..is it great?

@Tonysgames1 Fraps, and then used a program to convert .avi to .mp4 since Sony Vegas does not read .avi files. Warning though, fraps uses like 3GB to record like 2 minutes of gameplay.

@joshbot360 Build up your characters more. Try to stay ahead of the game by stopping briefly to level up before progressing and you won't die nearly as often.

I might have to check this one out. The only Rogue-like that I've played is Fatal Labyrinth for Genesis (which is also available on Steam), and I really liked that game, despite a lot of people not really caring for it. (Fatal Labyrinth is notorious for its difficulty, and the only point to collecting money in the game is to get a nicer tombstone whenever you die. Haha.) Amusingly, your one gripe about the game is, if I remember correctly, one that even Fatal Labyrinth managed to pull off.

@EliteLugia play diablo 1, it's even more fun with a friend so if you have friends definitely play diablo it requires massive teamwork on co-op and on solo it's really hard unless you start a new game+ if you die you lose ur stuff but you keep ur xp plus you can reload the save, sztill pretty hard because once ur teammate dies he won't revive so u need to revive him and to do that u need ressurection scrolls.

Great review, but I don't like the game. Bought it last week and played around 10h of it. Personally I think it's way to easy if you're used to roguelikes (especially the non-graphical textbased) and gets somehow easier over time. It's very accessible and good if you want to get into roguelikes but unfortunately I've played too many of the hard "oldschool" ones to really enjoy this. As I said though, great review.

@KeverBowser I prefer console roguelikes or games like Dungeons of Dredmor that are a bit easier on the learning curve, the textbased roguelikes on PC are incredibly hard at times and require hours upon hours of reading tutorials and FAQ's before you can play the game correctly (with a few exceptions), something myself and others probably don't want to be bothered with, but I can see the appeal and satisfaction of mastering those games to the core.

@PeteDorr if you have to read a bunch of tutorials and FAQs before you play a game, your just flat out doing it wrong... give it a little experimentation, and stop beating a game by using other people's information. Do it yourself. That is the only way to get real satisfaction out of a game.

@leopower7 I play on normal, so if easy mode allows you to quicksave that kinda defeats the purpose. On the mode I play you can only save and exit the game to continue later.
