  • just got mine taken out today and receive my new boot instead of a cast

  • Does it hurt? I have to get mine taken out wednesday and I really don't want to

  • hey i broke my ankle like 4 or 5 weeks ago had my surgery and everything theres like 3 screws in there and now i have to wear this hard cast for 4 weeks and then i still have to be on crutches though anyway i could possibly walk sooner?

  • I'm in the same deal my mom had 3 and me and my cuz take care and god bless your mother

  • My mom had 4 surgeries on her foot/ankle

she was in pain forever, but me and my dad are doing all of the work around the house until she recovers, God bless her and all the others suffering from something such painful. this is horrible stuff, it affects you're walking, but they might give you a brace, or a cast. or a boot..

  • Had the same thing done 5 wks ago.. so your recovery was pretty good??

  • i broke my ankle 3 months ago but the dr said the rod in my ankle is moving,in the x ray it looks like it is bending

  • I broke my ankle and they put 8 screws and a plate in it and I'm telling you it did not hurt from the time it happened till the time I could walk again and I can't believe it did not hurt once.

  • can we take ecstasy 1 week after the surgery with no medication to follow ?

  • @iCharlioo of course lol 8 hours of a pretty potent pain killer haha

  • are yarrr mera bhi kuch esa hi hal he heeeeeeeeee

  • i broke my ankle while sleding on jan 22 but im walking now take the pain like a man cuz im a girl 14 yrs old BE A MAN

    XD

  • Thanks for posting this; I broke my right ankle last Wednesday and had the same surgery; Have to go back next week to get the staples removed and was wondering what it was going to be like, so this really helped. Glad to hear too that you are able to walk and jog;

Prior to this injury I was a high heel wearing woman who ran 5 miles a day, 3 days a week with my Jack Russell and I am really hoping to be able to get back to that when my leg heals.

  • @3Zetalady Hey sorry to hear about your ankle! The rehab /physio process is quite long especially if you're a runner! I had the same surgery last year and its been tough but sort of okay with running now. Heels... not so much unless you decide to get the plate/screws removed that might help. But i haven't been able to wear heels properly ever since, hope it's different for you!

  • I always had stitiches.. never had staples..

  • You'll experience a hell of a lot of pain undergoing this kind of surgery(ORIF) after 2-3days. I've been through this shit and man there is just no words to describe the pain. Glad Dr. gave me morphine for 3 days to help me pull through. Sustained fracture in left tibia, fibula & metatarsal. Had ORIF 1plate & 13 screw. Removing stitches & staples aren't that painful at all, for me not sure about others.

  • i wanted to see videos of this because i have stitches on too and i hope it wont hurt when they take it off

  • @jayster1991 honestly...it just feels like a pinch when they were taking it off....it was not that bad at all...the only thing you'll be concerned about later on is the scaring....

  • I want to know if the bolts were holding up recovery time and how long you could step right foot and I the same problem as you. waiting for reply. thanks

  • @jiloveanu it honestly depends on your own will power...i desperately wanted to walk....so what i did was use a computer chair and held on to the seat and just pushed forward...i forced myself to walk...cause i hated being confined to my bed all the time...when they took off the cast it took about a week and a half for me to be able to stand on it (with the least amount of pressure)...then just took it from there

  • I want to know if the bolts were holding up recovery time and how long you could step right foot and I the same problem as you. waiting for reply. thanks

  • Rollerblading...that's how it happened.

  • Wow, this looks pretty bad. D: How did that happen?

  • i nearly broke ankle today and i was scared because i didnt know if it was broken

  • thats what I had to go through couple wks ago!! how are you doing now?

  • @abht01 i'm doing better now...been active and I have a personal trainer to help me re-gain my strengt.

  • wow

  • Oh go god that's gotta hurt. Ouch!!

  • cuando kitan las puntadas mas q el dolor es el temor

  • were you in a cast after the staples came out?

  • i just broke my ankle, can you still play sports when you heal? how long does it take? I have 1 plate and 5 screws

  • @08nelly08 Well...I cant play hockey..golf or football now :/

  • When i broke my ankle they put in 1 plate and 8 screws , it was the left ankle , but i dont know why the cut at both sides?

  • @MrVokuhila i got same but a plate with 5 screws + 2 screws independant for keep in pace two other bone and after 30 days i use morphine and it's still red around ankle, for a sportman like me it's terrible !to stay home and they get removed my cast after only 14 days, pretend it,s better for recovry faster,i don't believe them!

  • omg i broke my ankle and the wound is exactly the same place as mine :o the swelling thats after the surgery is annoying me

  • Holy shit... I just broke my ankle.. but im good cuz my bone didn't move, so I had no surgery nor any adjusting.. they just gave me cast.. this is bad man...

  • Man my dad broke both of his ankles in Korea when he was in the military playing vollyball with his friends. Ever since he wasnt able to run very well without pain. He also had some kinda wierd fungal infection that doctors werent able to cure.. At least he can walk, but doctors back then were butchers

  • I got th same op two week ago and believe it or not,he already renove my cement plaster and the pin like the video :( i am really scar to falling down and broke again without my plaster! just hope i'll recovery perfectly!

  • i hade the same thing, i broke my fibula in 1 place and tibula in 2 places. have 1 plate and 8 screws. it hurt like a bitch when they took out my staples, and in 9 months im doing it all over again cause im getting it all removed D: ill enjoy my mobility while it lasts...

  • heres my advice and its good dont break/crush/fracture ur knee if it dropped like mine did into lil pieces ur fucked ull never b able to put alot of strength into it cause it will hurt sao b carefull u dnt wanna b in the pain i was in and spend 10 days in hospital like me with 40 staples and a steel plate in ur leg and if u do ask for alot of meds but u wont sleep for the first night hurts to bad :)

  • i just crushed my knee and it was in 4 different pieces i got a steel plate with 6 screws in it with 45+ staples in my 30cm insicion and b4 u say nufin i aint lieing look on my yt i show u my full leg cast

  • Just got my staples removed yesterday, stings like a bitch!!!!

  • awwh thats dirty man

  • sssiiiccckkK!!!

  • I really enjoyed watching your video, I just had a recent injury they called a trimalleolar fractures with dislocation. I broke 3 bone (tibula, fibula, foot bone) I also dislocated my ankle bone. I had to have a reduction procedure in ER, the surgery the next day where they installed a pin, plates and screws on both sides of my injury. Your video lets me know what I will be looking forward to in the coming weeks and months.

  • I broke my foot. Will this happen to me?

  • Does it hurt more after surgery? I need surgery and Im so scared that the pain will be 5 times worse. I have norco but the pain is tolerable enough where all I need are the ibuprofin,

  • omfg...very bad

  • uhhhh i went threw the same thing but my inside scare wasnt really has straight as ur was it was side ways... u seemed really calm when they took the staples out i was scared shitless an it hurt really bad, my dr. digged the staple remover into it.. did u still have ur plate/screws an ur pins in??

  • what happens if you fracture ur ankle but near ur growth spot or bone

  • I know how you feel I broke my right tibia but I didn't need surgery. The ankle is the worst to break because it supports your weight. The tibia isn't as bad though.

  • I just got my staples removed last week. Surprised.. it was not pain.

  • on friday my aunt fracured her ankle 3 times and she just called and they finished her surgery hsould i show her this video lol

  • the stitches are just the same as mine.

  • The worst pain i've felt in my life was when they were TRYING to pry this staple out of my shin bone (6 staples RIGHT in the middle of my shin).. Doctor pulled, (ouch!) and no budge.. Again, OOOOWW.. sharp pain in my arm radiating from my leg.. on about the 5th pull he got it out, not fun period.

  • hey was wondering am geting my screw removed frm my ankle in 2 weeks would i b able to walk after they remove it let me no plz thx glad u doin better

  • did the bones pop out of the skin?

  • looks just like my right ankle. broke it on dec 6 still can't walk.

  • i dislocated my foor on 9th nov ive had the same done i am also spookily back on 11 jan 2010 to have one of the big screws out holding it still thru both bones the plate further up is staying in

  • Here comes the pain again noooooooooo.... I recomend getting surgery if its necesary. even though theres pain. If its not nesesary and the doctors give you the option to have one, dont do it.

  • Im getting surgey again on january 11, 2010. The doctor is going to remove the 7 screws and the plate. idk why but thats what he wants. im pretty comfortable with it inside me. the only problem is that i cant run.

  • its not that the surgery hurts, but its the cut that they do on your ankle. If you get screws like i did, well that hurts, also because something new is being inserted into your ankle. I have 7 screws and a plate. One of the screws goes from bone to bone. so Yeah it hurts the first two weeks. >.>

  • i want an answer k.... i broke my ankle in feb and i realized that it is broken by x-ray in aug... now what do i need to do...? answer the first question and answer this.... does the surgery hurts...?

  • had it done yesterday, surgery is usually a must if you want full use of your ankle again, mine kinda looks like the on ein the video. It's irritating and kind of painful but better then leaving it alone and having permanent damage

  • @DecimoVongola yes the surgery hurts!

  • Hey,

    hope u get better:D

I broke my ankle on 8th september wile playin soccer. I was really scared of the surgery coz im only 10!but it dosent hurt after that it only hurts sometimes, but take advantage...NO SCOOL!!!!LOL...hope mane105 and lurannios get well soon

  • @taha508 Im scare. I think i broke my ankle. idk if my mom will take me to the hostpital or not

  • i broke my ankle sunday sk8 boarding i had to get 7 screws in my anke

  • hOla!

duele mucho , me hicieron algo parecido :S

  • did u get ur metal plates out?

    Or u leave em in?

  • you're fucked dude

  • omg that looks so sick. just days ago i broke my ankle.... bimalla-sumthin. im gonna need a plate and 3 or more screws. how bad is the pain after the surgery? and does it affect u now? thanx 4 posting this =)

  • it's really painful after surgery. make sure you have meds beside you!...right now i'm pretty much comfortable with walking, jogging, running and working out with weights...the only time i feel pain is when it is in contact with something...like for example when somebody kicks the area by accident also with shoes, i have to make sure it's low cut or as long as it doesn't hit the plate, then i'm all good.

  • @mane1105 my mom broke her angle three days ago, and got surgery two days ago. how long does that pain after surgery last??? also do they give you a new cast after 2 1/2 weeks????

  • @mane1105 It is.

Plus i had to have metal, and brake the bone from my arm :/

    hurts like shit.

But it happened like 4 months ago

I dint have lots of madiecen

  • @mane1105 wait staples as in literal METAL staples in your skin!!!? D:!!!

  • @mane1105 I'm about to have ankle surgery. I used to be really addicted to pain killers. So, i refuse to take them. I'm fucked, huh?

  • @mane1105 yea i broke my leg and i got 16 screws and 2 plates an i can just now wlk and the surgery was 6 weeks ago

  • @mane1105 I snapped the outside point of my ankle completely off and it ended up halfway down to my toes by the time I was going into surgery. I've had a plate and 7 screws implated to keep it in check, had the cast on for 6 weeks and they found a DVT deep in my calf muscule in the same leg. I finished my physio for the ankle 2 weeks ago after having 2 months worth of it (weekly appointments). I'm currently on blood thinners for the DVT, it's 3 months course before they review the situation...

  • @mane1105 ... Currently I can jog and use stairs with confidence. Sprinting, kicking footies and balancing are still not back fully (had op 29/11/10) To right the pain on the road to recovery is UNBELIEVABLE, I was given Tramadol, Co-Codamol and Asprin to take home. They only helped when you're not moving (ie. in bed) but soon you're on the move, the stabbs of pain are right back there.

  • comlete agony ... just get loadsa morphine

  • @lorrainus Isn't it weird having the clips out - like being stabbed with pins?! :-/ I'm still in a cast....fingers crossed for a successful mend!

  • @JayceyF I had the staples removed.. And have sick scars on both sides.. From the sewing and staples. Prepare urself 2 have an effing frankenstien foot! Lol when they take em out.. Doesn't really hurt.. Ur ankle was expanded when the staples went in.. So now that that the swellings down, the staples should be loose already. ;) good luck 2 you man! Winters here... And it's gonna be a Bitch! Lol buy some ankle braces!!!

  • @lorrainus the pain is so bad i was screaming and im a 6ft 3 lad and very big for my age ( 15 ) was screaming and crying in pain the irst 24hours is the worse

  • @99mining1 yea dude I agree. I'm 6 ft and I was crying like a lil baby.. Tried holding it in but the pain was unbearable. They gave me painkillers hrs after the surgery... Didn't fall asleep til 6am cus I couldn't get n a comfy position. I remember sleeping on my stomach with my knee bent and foot n the air. Lol. It effing sucked! Vicodin was helpful 4 the 1st month to sleep..;) seeing this vid makes me wish I wouldve recorded mine..

  • @lorrainus how long does it take for walk and run and back to normal, same injury like yours, last oc tober and i use morphine sometimes,! thx for answer not easy for me got complication.

  • Ouch!!!!!

  • what type of fracture did you have, & are you walking now ??

  • Isso dói..!!!@#$%¨&*

  • aie!!!!!!!!!

  • that must suck...i tore my acl on my left leg and sprained my right ankle at the same time...

  • what did u do ? Dislocated my ankle and broke fibula with multiple ligament ant tendon problems . Hope u are back up and arond soon. Did u have plates and screws put in. My recovery is going well but slow. Take care. JJ

  • Niiiiiiiiiice.

  • err that looks dirty

  • ha i had my ankle like this and had 2 years of rehab to get me walking after being run over by a car. but i must say it feels bloody good when the staples get taken out cause it has been so long in a cast. it does not hurt it actually tickles true fact

  • wow ur is worse sprained my ankle by a trapoline accident becuase of my sister

  • What did your sister do?

  • Fractured my right ankle in December... had to get a plate & 12 screws... Grateful my dr used glue instead of staples!

  • Yeah-staples HURT! When I was 10, I had to get Oral Surgery-because there was a giant cyst that was actually BLOCKING 2 of my permanent teeth from coming out, and for 1 week straight, I kept on pulling string-like material out of my mouth! LOL!!

  • That is DISTURBING!!

  • ive fractured my right ankle twice and my left ankle once luckely i havent had any operations, my mom broke her left ankle on both sides and since then shes never been the same its swells up a lot.

  • aw man,i juz broke my fibula 1 wk ago,had a metal plate and 7 screws inside, still remember the pain after surgery

  • I had the surgery 4 weeks ago. Sucks!!

  • feel you man, went through the same thing, broke fibula, and tibia, had to go through four surgeries

  • I got exactly that done today :D

  • DUDE! This happened to me. Taking those staples out hurts so bad!! Stings!

  • i had 17 staples taken out of my ankle. it actually felt good to get those damn things out. however, one of the staples f***ing hurt when the nurse took it out. Other than that it wasn't all that bad.

  • 0h my godd. Are you okay that must

  • go on school an d show em up to girls

  • That's fuckng kool :D

  • dude like when i saw them doing that like i had the chills that must hurt?

  • i have a question? for you.. i had a accident and i broke my ankle in 3 places too.. i got surgery 7 days ago.. i'm still in pain.. i feel like somebody is pulling my tendons in ankle.. did you feel the same after your surgery??? thanks 4 ur answer..

  • its normal... good luck

  • I got the same thing, 28 staples...didnt hurt that much taking em out, cause all the nerves were sliced. Few days after you can feel the nerves fusing back together and your foot just fidgets...and it sucks at night cause ur just like "FUCK" and its 4AM ...school in 2 hours

  • hey mel...it was pretty ok...they didn't numb me or anything...but i did feel it when they were running the cotton swabs against the staples of my legs when they were trying to sanitize it...but overall the staple removal process felt like little needle pricks...but overall, i was ok....if you really wanna see what's holding my ankle together in place check out this video: it's called 'Broken Leg Video' on YouTube, the author is lgriffiths004 (just in case you can't find it)
