1992, sitting on my balcony in S. France singing along with my headphones on, unaware that people were stopping and listening. Continuing anyway. I love this song.
This is the first time I've heard this song (yes I have been living in a cave) I thought it was another cover of the Psych furs song.
How Happy I Am That I Was Wrong
@incadove- I saw Grace Slick and Jefferson Airplane Live way back in ancient times (1967) Young and live they were incredible, I think if Siouxsie would cover any of their work it would have to be Eskimo Blue Day, I think she would have brought something new to it.
i think that people who diss supersition and the rapture as the worst siouxsie & the banshees albums should get their ears and hearts checked. pure bliss !
I love Siouxsie, and I know a few of her songs, but I'm looking up as much more as I can...And each time I'm blown away! She's my second/female Robert Smith. :)
@MultiKanut Yeah I know he started out with her, and sounds like he got a lot of inspiration from her. I just wish I could've seen a concert like you did. :(
@MultiKanut Oh. I wasn't aware of that. I just figured since the Cure started in the late 70s that he wouldve been with Siouxsie earlier. That's some interesting information. Thanks. :)
Almost impossible to believe that after all these years no one can b compare to this lady.....beyond perfection. Thanx u 4 provide us with ur so talented gifts. to connect with this u gotta b bless with an unusual kind of sensibility.
High School I think i was either a sophomore, THE ONLY PERSON THAT LISTEN TO SIOUXIE. what so cold that I went to all almost all white school but almost everyone listen to country and classic rock. Peek a boo what got me when I was 10 yrs old. Even though I didn't have Mtv in high school some how i stayed current with music.
16 years old, Norfolk pines, elipses, eclipses, fuck you universe, now I'm 33, my mother commited suicide, my dad has a terrible brain injury, I don't want justice, just want to scream at somebody important !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you - a beautiful song! And in reply to incadove - yes! I have often thought about the Grace Slick Siouxsie Sioux connection. Imagine Grace covering a hammered out version of "Spellbound"!
My favorite Siouxsie And The Banshees record although there are certainly great songs on all their albums but this one really does it for me. It's such gorgeous pop music. Off the subject I've always imagined what it might sound like if Siouxsie covered White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane. One can dream I suppose.
This song slays me. I know it is about Tiananmen but in my mind and history it goes beyond that moment. This album came out a year before my high school graduation (that I never attended cuz I was so punk) -- and I've carried the songs and sentiment with me almost 20 years later. (Frankly, the realization of that much time passing shocks me.) Hold the whirlwind indeed. Superstition is sadly underrated. Ghost in You is haunting and glorious...and kiss them for me...I may be delayed.
@Sugardeluxe Totally with you on all counts (although I did attend my graduation, but strutted with an aire that I was too cool to be there...But I digress...) This band is underrated!!! Takes you back!
@Sugardeluxe i know how you feel. i graduated the year 'kiss them for me' was a hit... i just discovered this song on the cd i've had for years and it's so pretty! can't believe it's been 20 years either.
lo que es esta y little sister son las mejores jaja ese disko lo kiero en original i esta re kanijo enkontrarlo jeje mi maestra lo tiene i me lo presto pero poes mmmta no es lo mismo algun dia lo konseguire
I will never forget Tiannammen. They live in me. I can still see them. I will never forget the hope of a real revolution, for a moment...it was there. Someday we will all be free.
I just bought this album and definitely, Superstition fascinates me. Not their best piece but awesome as always, when it comes to Siouxsie & the Banshees.
I agree. This is a great album! The ghost in you still haunts me.

Superstition sounds too sterile, but some songs are good. I might say The Ghost in you is the best one.

@incadove So, I'm not the only one that thinks Siouxsie would have made the perfect cover of White Rabbit.

@incadove I wouldn't really call this pop. This goes so far beyond pop it's not even close.
mindlessjrlee 1 year ago
@incadove I agree with you... As heretical as it may be, Superstition is my favorite Banshees album too. Downright gorgeous from start to end.
Although, Pity off of Boomerang (The Creatures) is the most beautiful track (from any artist) I can think of.
Of course, there is plenty of great Banshees (and Creatures) tracks, and "pretty" isn't the only gauge of goodness.
