  • U cant compare instrumental music with bands like LZ , GNR, JHE... i think, its diferent kind of music, i think satriani, vai or batio, those guys are much closer too you.

No offense i am big fan BH :)

  • @kicek81

    I'm not really Buckethead lol

  • Comment removed

  • @Bucketheadhead it was my mistake :)) i think u r not mad of this :))) should be " ... closer to Buckethead " :)

  • @Bucketheadhead then why is ur account name buckethead ?

  • @TheMahir1811 because I like Buckethead

  • Yay Sultans of Swing intro! :D fun fun

  • Post 2.

If we are looking at the actual technical ability then you'd have to call Buckethead, but that isn't to say that if the techniques currently employed by guitarists such as him were commonplace in the 1960s that Jimi Hendrix couldn't have matched him, because he was quite clearly the outstanding guitarist of his generation.

If you were to compare the musical output of the two, well in my opinion you would still have to go a long way to beat some of Jimi's output.

  • Post 1.

You can discount Jimmy Page & Slash from this immediately. Self indulgent twaddle was the sum total of their output.

Now as for comparing Jimi Hendrix & Buckethead the problem I think that there is here is that guitar playing as a form has progressed significantly since the 1960s to the current day. Jimi Hendrix was a self taught player & whilst I don't know anything about Buckethead's background he is obviously a very technical player so one must assume lessons of some sort.

  • @CityGov

Yeah Buckethead had lessons from Paul Gilbert, explains his technical side. However I don't judge a guitarist by technical ability rather emotion and passion put into the music. All 5 of them are extremely passionate about their guitar playing but the one I can feel the most is Buckethead. Hendrix was obviously a god of guitar.

  • @Bucketheadhead for a month. He spent eight years with Pebber Brown.

  • THE PEOPLE SAY: BUCKETHEAD!

  • THE PEOPLE SAY: !BUCKETHEAD!

  • Steve Vai!, Zakk Wylde and of course...BUCKETHEAD

  • Gosh you guys are all so crazy! Its dumb to compare music. If you asked any good musician if they were better than "so and so" they will always reply, somewhat irritated, with something to the effect of "no I'm not any better.. He plays music his way, and I play music my way."

  • No one is the "best guitarist." Sure, there may be some that are better than others, but no one is the best. Everyone is creative in their own way. Like supercoolninjayo said, music is a form of art. A certain guitarist may be the best guitarist in your own opinion, because you like their style the most, but that does not mean that they're the best among every other person who has ever picked up the guitar. It's all about creativity.

  • Hey guys, music is an art that you take by an opinion. There is no best.

  • JH duh

  • Thats fuckin dirty but its impossible to pick a best guitarist... what do you use as criteria?

  • Bucketheadd!!! hubieras puesto el solo de jordan man , el de nothinham lace estuvo bien!

  • i just don't like buckethead at all ... and since slash's my fav ..go slash :)

  • buckethead

  • Buckethead. Always. Wins.

  • Buckethead definetley takes this one in my opinion!!

  • Bucky

  • If you talk about emotion, one of the best can be heard in the intro to this vid :P

Knopfler, Gallgher, BB King, Buddy Guy,....

  • Jimmy Hendrix

  • buckethead

  • the sampling is faulty. jerry garcia alone easily overmatches the sample tunes + performances on 100 songs in 1000 performances.

page & buckethead, et al friggin rox and they can take you to the Great Backstage and beyond. why try to overstate that?

if you haven't seen pretty much all the masters you got no business embarrassing yourself with an opinion. if you have seen them all, these are not gonna be your choices.

it's called humility. look it up.

  • fuck off

  • suck my balls mate and fuck off

  • Think about it. Over 40 years ago Page started writing the book. The rest followed.

  • and what about george harrison and bb king?

  • and you know, i mean, cmon: CLAPTON????

  • Buckethead owns all except paul gilbert, jason becker an jesus

  • jesus sucks ass.

  • Page.

  • Buckethead

  • Buckethead is clearly the most technical and most skilled among these guitarists, but its hard to compare him with some1 like hendrix or page who were great guitarists in the 60s and 70s, music changes with time its like comparing metal to classic rock, but still i vote for Buckethead he is my secound favorite guitarist

  • Not bucketheads best solos like Jordan welcome to buckethealand

    But BH FTW

  • Buckethead!!

    #He is so fucking amazing

  • Jimmy Page is probably the best guitarist out of these when it comes to writing riffs and stuff, but Buckethead is the most skilled and diverse, in my opinion.

  • Jimi-fucking-Hendrix.

They all are absolutely awesome, though. And I'm a huge Buckethead fan, yet I must admit Hendrix is epic.

  • Page and Buckethead.

  • Nice vid, but come on. You got a video of buckethead at the ending shredding his head off and improving insanely, you gave Jimmy Paige minimal credit by making him look like a nutter playing a guitar with a violin bow. If you gave all of them the opportunity to shred by themselves instead of following a song, they'd give buckethead a fair and hopefully bloody awesome challenge.

  • I couldn't find any vids of Page doing other solos, which I was kind of gutted about. Either way none of them can shred like Buckethead but what really counts is the emotion and passion that they all play with.

  • Totally agree, bucketheads control and technique is undescribably good. Wish there was some better footage of the others though to do them proper justice.

  • @Deadstar6969 hahah i thought the same thing with the violin bow rather funny though

  • god...its Jimi!...holy shit not Jimmy...

  • I know, I made the vid in a hurry.

  • wats with the EDS-1275s

  • JIMMY PAGE!!!!

  • Are you a moron? If Buckethead is not a guitarist then what the fuck is he?

  • u just named 3 of the worst guitarist ever u fucking idiot, bucket head owns all those losers

  • You, sir, are a moron.

  • duude please, where is zakk wylde ?? where is dimebag darell ? where is kirk hammett ??

  • Wherever the fuck they are in the world? How do you expect me to know?

  • hahahaha nice smatass response- buckethead is insane i vote for him. although hendrix and paige were revolutionary for their time and now even. kirk is good, but not that good. ha.

  • Big B

  • Page is the best!! and second slash

  • Hendrix is the man because 1. he is lefty 2. he strung his guitar, himself , to be lefty 3. he taught himself how to play 4.have you heard his songs?????

  • Jimi Hendrix cuz he´s lefty and he revoluzzed guitar playing for the guitar being a solo instrument!

  • being a lefty doesnt have to do w/ being a good guitarist!

  • That might be but many lefties were!

  • absolutely buckethead :D +1

  • Slash <3

  • They're all great..... Jimmy Page is The Master

  • buckethead....OFC :D +1

  • +1 for buckethead

  • Jimmy Page,,,,,Just watch and listen to Since Ive been loving You Live :)

  • watch Buckethead: asylum of glass, live =)

  • Buckethead

was the first solo from Soothsayer?

  • Whitewash

  • the jimi hendrix's solos aren't the bests he has.. and the same whith jimi page. but JIMI HENDRIX

  • Yeah but I couldn't find that many great live solos of his, but no question, he was a god of guitar.

  • Wow just to begin a lot of different playing styles and you didn't have some of Jimi Paiges best solo's. But my vote has to go to JP His riff and solo's are great just can't beat them also everyone know's him.

  • I Think Hendrix maybe win my vote, but i liked the buckethead solo, and my vote goes to the buckethead.

  • Buckethead has my vote

  • buckethead

  • Buckethead

  • 0:01

  • buckethead fftw!!!!!!!

  • Buckethead.

  • buckethead

  • Slash makes me gag, nothing but power ballads

Jimi Hendrix got a very close second, cause that guy did whatever came to mind, and he was so relaxed onstage, it's impossible not to like somebody with as much technique as him,

but Buckethead definitely takes my vote. Too flawless to not consider

  • AWESOME.

    Buckethead FTW.

  • BUCKETHEAD

  • SLASH

  • nice video my favorite are slash and buckethead

  • I would say Jimi, then right after comes buckethead

  • oh and i shared this vid with all my friends to get more voters, not many at the moment :/

  • hmm, i didn't like jimmy pages performance here at all, and slashes was mediocre, he has his moments, but mostly he is overrated, and i love the sound of bh and the feeling of hendrix, but hendrix is terribly overrated, yet, buckethead is probably the most chosen to win and as much as i would prefer to go with an underdog im gonna say bucket, if not only for those incredible hammer ons

  • I'd probably have to say Buckethead.

Then it's an all out brawl for second because they're all good.

Can I ask what's the song/name of the first video of Buckethead that you put on?

I can't seem to put my finger on which video it is.. D:

  • It's Whitewash but that is the live version, the studio version is a bit different.
