he died at the end of saw 3 but during the events of saw 3, saw 4 was happening as well, but we didn't get to see any of it until saw 4, so by him lying in the same place as he was before it's showing us that during saw 4, saw 3 was happening :) it's a little confusing by I hope I helped

i think the reason that wouldn't work is because you can see that his head is tilted back so he wouldn't have enough space to then bring the top of his skull into the knives, nice idea though.

the real story is that at the second part of the saw is that amanda started to help john(jigsaw) and in the part 3 john(jigsaw) die bec. jeff shot him w/ a gun and amanda also die.. even if i still had'nt watch this saw 4 i think that john(jigsaw) really die at part 3 and just hav some people to continue his work or what he calls THE GAME.. :)

Jigsaw and Amanda both die in Saw 3, But the person that takes on Jigsaw's work is Detective Hoffman. Saw 4 just shows events/other games that happened at the same time as Saw 3.
