The waterjets are much more powerful when comparing against traditional laser machines. Lasers are much faster when you are dealing with thin sheet metal.
However, waterjets are much more versatile cutting virtually any material you can think of as well as thickenesses 20"+. These benefits greatly surpass the versatility of laser machines.
