I had a feeling this might be on YouTube and I am so glad. This has got to be one of the best classic Woody Allen dysfunctional relationship dialogues. Nobody else has portrayl the maddening paradox of relationships as well as he has.
So clever and insightful. Clever: "What it is not" holds the piece together and allows for so many funny possibilities. Insightful: picks up on the surprisingly frequent situation where one partner has no idea that the other has fundamentally gone off the relationship.
Curiously I went to NYC last month and in Union Square, I heard a conversation almost identical to this one .... are all New Yorkers so mixed up that Woody was able to portray it so exquisitely it over 35 years ago .. ? I'm British and therefore see Americans more objecticely ... and so does Woody.
They were married in real life. I bet there were some funny moments but I remember she had a "pot" problem and he was always uptight about drugs and alcohol.
Have you seen x-rays of mr????HAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm so glad Hollywood produces such classic humor. Bollywood is so uptight, fake, humorously naive and not just into dysfunctionality.

You're immature--sexually, emotionally, and intellectually.
Yeah, but what other ways?!

This is one of my all-time favorite scenes, when she makes him guess what's wrong with him.

I see it more as a woman thing than a relationship thing, acctually. Notice, Woody tried to counter every move logically and stay on topic
