@garywilkes Yes, the MIDI file stores the actual notes, so I used a very old copy of Cakewalk to view and print the score. They can be difficult to interpret in this view so you sometimes have to play the file back very slowly to hear the notes as well. I'm sure there are other decent free programs out there you can use.
Great to hear it played a bit like Fats and you do the best cover I've heard. Could you do a favour and slow it down a bit like Fats and sort of play it with "feeling" and re post please
I don't know how I found your channel, I was just jumping from one thing to another. One thing is for certain I am very pleased I did find you. You play my kind of piano. I will certainly check out the link you provide. It sounds interesting. The piece was, in my opinion, very well played. I did love the comment from Fanfardon. I wonder if he achieved his goal. Best Wishes David
Very nice work. You played the head with those trills, just like Waller. The time feel was good.. not rushed.. and I dug how you used your right hand to go down in the bass to bring out the top note of that a minor progression.. nice work..
Great job! Do you have a copy of the score? I have almost all of the John Farrell transcriptions but do not see this one on his site..I actually commissioned him to transcibe the Lambert version which is also a nice version...I would like to get a copy of the one you played..Please advise..Thanks for your help.....
john Farrell was my grandfather - unfortunatly he passed away a few years ago, but he was ledg!!! your style is very much like his - you are very talented
lucky you!!! great :>)

Perhaps a daft question but please briefly tell me how I go about learning a song from a midi file?! Is there software that can display it for me?

Excellent done Ian!!!
There are sooo many fine details that I think it´s better not to describe them one by one (but if you want, I´ll do it).
I really enjoyed this video very much.
