Thousands of suicides? Monsanto, oh Monsanto, you won't get away with it, you may not even survive in the next few years, no one wants that monsterous shit, and you'll have to pay back billions before too long. But time will tell, maybe you'll win and billions will die, but in the end you will lose.
Why is India even growing cotton? Hemp is a much more dynamic and durable fiber, requires no pesticides, can be grown much more densely, removes only cellulose and water from the earth, and has very useful natural byproducts.
This move to patent life forms must be stopped. In the name of profits and market share, the GMO creators are enslaving the world's farmers. If it is truly all about technological benefit to society, then there is no need for a patent, and no need to force it onto people by way of leverage and monopolistic market manipulation.
Scientist, saying cancer-generating GMO poison is essential for fighting food shortages should reveal who pays their bills and buys their scientific integrity...
The use of GM seed stock is not mandatory, nor does GM control annual precipitation rates. Crop failure is a risk all farmer face, it's not unique to India. GM is no more at fault for these suicides than a uncontrollable drought, debt was inevitable
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) lists "financial hardship" among adults in America, as one of the "fastest growing risk factors for suicide".
America leads India in suicides per 100,000 people a year, ranking #40, India ranks #44.
Apart from this, in India, big multinational and national corporations are acquiring agricultural lands to manufacture luxury items. Like Indian government, why the governments of the whole world are so much in love with the big evil corporations? Is it necessary to use land to create luxury items than to farm and grow food to satisfy hunger?
Not all GMO's are evil, GMO's supply cheap food to most of the world. If we burned all of the GMO seeds tonight, it would cause the starvation of MILLIONS! Organic food is a high maintenance, low yielding crop. The organic market doesnt have the seed stock to feed the world. WE CAN'T FEED THE WORLD ON ORGANIC ALONE!!!! WHAT IS YOUR SOLUTION!!!
Just what we need: More anti-GM hysteria. Like there isn't enough of that here in the U.S. and in Europe among all the hippie environmentalist groups like Greenpeace?
What do these people want, to get rid of all the huge extra cotton yields due to GM seeds b/c of a few problems here and there and replace it with much lower yields from "natural" seeds? That's madness! GM crops are fine. The people mainly buying into crap like "GM crops enhance food allergies" or other nonsense are the same folks who think global warming is gonna flood the entire Earth. The same folks who buy into nonsense about aspartame being "deadly."
Corporations strike again, holy shit, dumb jackasses at every last nook and cranny of our world influencing , everything to make more money. where do these cock suckers live, Oh yea near me.......:/ protected by a natural valley and close enough to DC to work their evil.
@GarytehFairy Just their 4x4 dodge and ford turbo diesel trucks, lol. Some of their houses too, up on the hill they have large coal burning smoke stacks.
@AlmightyJerk I'm a farmer, I've grown organic, and GMO crops. I've done plenty of research, trust me, if GMO's were banned tomorrow, it would condem BILLIONS to death by starvation. Organic crops are not as hearty a crop. Organic crops would not yeild enough to feed the world population as is. Currently organic, non-hybrid seed makes up less then 1% of the entire seed market.
I bet most of the people against transgenic crops know little to nothing about RNA, gene promoters, proteins, or tissue culture.
