While I believe that way too much was spent on the inauguration ceremony, I don't lay the blame on Obama. Does anyone REALLY think he was the coordinator for the ceremony? That's what an event coordinator is for. It wasn't Obama directly who handled the inauguration ceremony, and frankly I'm happy, he has bigger fish to fry than party planning. Blame it's extravagance and lobbying money on whoever planned the events, not the president.
The lion's share of the inauguration money went to security. Bush's inauguration cost just about as much, but when they released the numbers, they conveniently left of the cost of security - at least now, we're getting more transparency.

While I believe that way too much was spent on the inauguration ceremony, I don't lay the blame on Obama. Does anyone REALLY think he was the coordinator for the ceremony? That's what an event coordinator is for. It wasn't Obama directly who handled the inauguration ceremony, and frankly I'm happy, he has bigger fish to fry than party planning. Blame it's extravagance and lobbying money on whoever planned the events, not the president.

If we want a better republic (and I think we all do), we have to hold our politicians accountable - especially those who have presented themselves as the candidate of "change."
We believed in him, campaigned for him, voted for him. Let's hold Obama to a higher standard. Turn the heat up, and we'll get results.
