bullshit if they say those cars dont rust out, anything GM made after 76 the quality was not as good as before. always the doors rusted out before anything else would on the 77 and newer cars. biggest mistake was putting trim on the bottom part of the door, salt, dirt, road debre would get traped in there and eat a hole in the door after a few years. there all GREAT cars to drive, what would be better if they didnt have that trim piece on the bottom, and a better motor AKA a economic buick 350 v8
I would re-tune the suspension even more to make it "FLOAT" going down the highway. I have always LOVED these buicks from this era- I used to own a 1983 Buick Regal and it was like G.M. took a Monte Carlo and made it into a Cadillac. It was so plush and smooth!!! I better stop now before I get way ahead of myself!! BUT I think this will be my next project. Since G.M. sold so many of these thruout the 1980's, there are still plenty of well kept examples left that I have to choose from.
The more I think about it, the more I would not mind trying to fing oneof these (since there are still some well kept examples left- and making it like it rolled off the line, WITH the best of todays safety features, like all disc brakes, and I would put a Buick Roadmaster 350 engine under the hood and re-paint it a flat-based paint with the best in todays clear-coat paints. Of cource, I would NOT want the exhaust to sound like a hot-rod, I want it to be dualed out with factory mufflers.
Good playback quality- what movie did you find this on? Doesn't sound like it's in stereo here- did this have Spanish on the right channel? One of these that I've uploaded has just the music on the right channel, which is pretty cool.
Respond to this video... these are such beautiful car's. I had a 1984 Buick Electra, very nice car. today's cars just look alike, no character what so ever.
@TurboVW2004 The Buick Obviously. Some people fail to realize that seats used to be comfortable and not rock hard like a park bench. Oh yeah and remember when interior colors came in choices other than Gray?
@85buickV8 I'll admit, there were some horrible vehicles produced during those years, but Buick, Olds and Cadillac preserved some beauty & brawn for motoring, namely in their full-size range.
Always loved those Buick sport rims.

My mom had an 84 Lesabre coupe with the lauded 4.1L V6. It was a great car but that engine couldn't punch a hole through a wet Kleenex.

This Buick has about as much fuel efficiency as the Exxon Valdez.

I had an 83 Lesabre with the 4.1. It was less than impressive....and so was the troublesome 200R4 trans it had.

@AlphaBetaParkingLot Put an '80 Electra next to a 2010 Civic and please tell me which car is more "elegant."
TurboVW2004 1 year ago 7
@TurboVW2004 I did not say there was absolutely no elegance in the 1980s.... but It is certainly not what the 80s has become best known for.

Great Video!!! When I was a kid my parents had a 1983 Electra sedan and 1984 LeSabre Limited coupe. Both were great cars with a silky smooth ride
