The hardening into orthodoxy is probably the greatest trap mankind has ever faced during the long evolution of human consciousness. The ramifications have permeated throughout world history resulting in the vanity of social status, the convenience of religious belief systems, the readiness to accept authority as the source of truth and the devaluation of the individual experience. Such blinkering of society is not without purpose, driven by greed we lurch along corralled by fear and expectation.

To break free from those outside influences, conditioning, is enlightenment, is holiness. Not becoming Ignorant, but innocent. Dropping the garbage that has been loaded unto you. It's impossible to see without removing the blindfold.
It may be nice to live on a mountain, but you have to have challenges, i,e the world, to GROW. After this, you can go into solitude, but it will make no difference to your BEING, as it has evolved beyond any symbol, it will not be affected by symbols. :D
Symbols have evolved us. Signs and symbols indicate evolutions the sun rise and setting, the seasons, the sprout, the stars, temperature etc etc,. are all symbols of predictability.
