@93Godsmack93 dipende: lo SH del 2001 aveva gli spb3, quello del 2009 che ho io gli spb1. sono entrambi belli, di fatto il mio basso bianco ha gli stessi pezzi precisi del modello 2001, che personalmente apprezzo di più! questo però è originale :)

@93Godsmack93 sicuramente i 3 hanno più bassi e più alti, gli 1 hanno più medi. quindi sì! sono buoni entrambi, ti consiglio di provarli se vuoi scegliere tra uno dei due perché dipende da come ti rapporti con lo strumento!

@jericho667 grazie :) sul montarmeli da solo ho dubbi, nel senso che da una parte mi piacerebbe provare (da circa un anno ho voglia di imparare la liuteria, solo che per studiare da liutaio dovrei andare a verona mi sembra... ci devo pensare bene in questo anno e mezzo di scuola che devo ancora fare, perchè è una cosa un po' impgnativa, anche se il lavoro c'è di sicuro, qua in zona abbiamo 1 liutaio quasi in pensione, quindi...) cmq ho anche paura a metterci mani XD grazie dei consigli comunque!

Does it take a while getting used to the much larger gauge, and the texture of the flat wound strings?

in my case, it takes A LOT! these strings are so tough I hardly can make notes on the low E, and the feel is very different, not so bright as round wounds, which I still prefer!

My guess is that you really have to put your wrist into it, those strings just look massive.

If I had the cash to get one, I'd shave the Fender off the neck, just like Mr.Harris haha.

But she's just a goddess of a bass so please god don't mess her up haha

the wrist movement makes it all slower though, better work with fingers - don't be jealous, this is just a japanese bass, you can get a way better highway one!

I worked on that, so I can catch up with that now, plus I just like the way your hand looks when it moves way more than neccessary haha.

It still looks freakin amazing, have you seen the first Steve Harris bass with the dark red almost wine color pick guard, I can't find them?

yeah, I know that bass, it was the firse release, with SPB3 pickups and blue placid finish - better pickups, but the color sucks. it was discontinued in 2007 I think, now there is this new version, it's cool in aspect but harder to play and it it's not cheap at all!

you should replace the rotosounds by ernie ball stainless steel strings. You get a way better maiden sound. I replaced mine to. Sounds and plays much better!

grazie! no, allora, le corde flat in realtà sono controindicate per questo sound, perché sn cupissime, non hanno proprio le frequenze alte! sono buone per fare jazz e fusion per lo più.

azzo, c'hai della bella roba eh? be, un compressore è essenziale, anche solo qualcosa tipo il soul preacher della EHX, per lavorare sull'attacco. L'EQ è essenziale, ma il markbass ce l'ha già incorporato no?

cmq se vuoi prendertene uno a pedale è certamente più preciso!

il jazz bass non è indicatissimo per un suono alla maiden, però si possono cavarne ugualmente dei bei suoni - tu usi plettro o dita?

Si vero ce l'ha incorporato,xo vabe pensavo di poter ottenere qualcosa in più,visto k in 1 gruppo suono cover alternative e brit rock, qnd c'è una grossa varietà di suonooo!!Certo mi rendo conto ke il jazz nn è adatto a un suono piu sferragliante, xo penso ke gran parte del lavoro viene dal tuo pick-up Seymour Duncan...deve spingere x davvero!Cmq uso plettro e dita, dipende dalla canzone e dal genere,mi adatto a scnd delle esigenze...cmq te k pareri hai sui vari tipi di compressoriii!!??!?!

sì, l'EQ a pedale è certamente meglio! e puoi ottenere ottimi risultati, perché il trucco è solo pestare, sia col plettro che con le dita - oppure puoi suonare con le unghie, il risultato è piacevole! l'SPB1 è molto bello, ma tanto poi se hai un EQ non conta tanto che pickup usi...

quanto ai compressori, se vuoi roba davvero seria devi prendertene uno a rack da studio, tipo il dbx160. gli altri sono solo giocattoli...

già @_@ questo costa sui 400 euro, ma è uno dei migliori al mondo! cmq c'è il compressore boss che è buono... non mi ricordo se è anche per basso :P un altro molto bello è il T-Rex Engineering Squeezer Tube-Driven Bass Compressor Pedal, ma costa un botto pure lui...

poi dipende da cosa ci devi fare: per i live sono essenziali, se deviregistrare in studio invece è meglio se usi gli effetti software!

l'EBS è carino, però se vuoi un suono brillante, alzando quelle frequenze ti farà sempre un po' di rumore bianco... minimo minimo devi spendere 270 euro e prenderti il Carl Martin, è bello e funziona bene per i live, solo che è difficile da settare perché devi andare quasi esclusivamente ad orecchio, i potenziometri non offrono buoni riferimenti... =)

thank you! yes, even though this bass laied in the store for six months and lots of peope plaied it, so the strings are really weakened. I think I'll go for rounds next time though, because flats are really unbright, tough to play and really more expensive! DR rounds are awesome for live gigs, less EQ, less problems, just play and they play well on their own!

già! pensavo di essermelo perso quando hanno ritirato la prima versione, ma questa è molto meglio: battipenna specchiato invece di quello rosso, verniciatura royal blue sparkle al posto di blue placid e spb1 invece di spb3! bellissimo! certo, solo un fan dei maiden può essere disposto a comprarne uno con quello che costa :P
