200 years ago or so. Back then a number of laws was made regarding such matters as blocking of traffic, occupying public space without permit, creating public disorder, harassing neighborhoods and passing by citizens etc etc. Strange thing is that all other group of believers, and the majority of Muslims for that matter, seems to have no noteworthy problems praying without systematically breaking these laws.

Back then a number of laws was made regarding such matters as blocking of traffic, occupying public space without permit, creating public disorder, harassing neighborhoods and passing by citizens etc etc. Strange thing is that all other group of believers, and the majority of Muslims for that matter, seems to have no noteworthy problems praying without systematically breaking these laws.

There are other cities and countries (Morocco) that's more suitable these type of gatherings. @awhisperatdawn I think it's because there is no big mosque, so because the mosque inside is packed the people have to pray outside. Because on friday all muslims want to go to the mosque, just like christians on sunday etc.So this problem can be solved if it would be alowed to build a bigger mosque. And for ur other question, I am a muslim myself, and to me ur statement is right, but I think u mean islamic scholars instead of leaders? Because there are no real leaders of muslims..
