@CerebralContusion it's a lot different in a lot of ways. wrestling is supposed to represent a sporting event in some way and give the illusion of realism. nobody believes that dinosaurs still exist and everybody knows what movies are. pro wrestling has to give the illusion that it might be real. it's supposed to be a live sporting event or it used to be considered that at least. it's a lot different than movies.
@CerebralContusion Well, it's because people are conditioned to not believe what they see in movies. People are jaded for whatever reason when it comes to pro wrestling because once upon a time, people knew it to be real. Not the case anymore. It's kind of shitty that people don't believe, and want to ruin it for people who want to believe.
@CerebralContusion Amen! Also, nobody ever accuses Jackie Chan/Jet Li of being in "fake" fights, and yet both those men practice and choreograph for HOURS just for a single short scene.
Wrestlers just go out their and do it, occasionally for as long as an hour at a time. Most of their moves actually hurt, but they suck it up and carry on.
Pro-wrestling is PRE-DETERMINED. It is NOT FAKE. Anyone who says it is fake is a fucking moron who does NOT know what they are talking about.
A match that they themselves brought up in a shoot interview that apparently never happened that would have been a classic was with fellow Japan legends Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen
Two rugged musclebound warriors....they beat the sh*t outta everybody because they were just so much stronger and tougher. Hawk and Animal showed the world that muscle power rules!
Well i know of 2 only 2 tag teams the Warriors faced on a scaffold. The Road Warriors Vs. Horseman & the RW vs. Midnight Express. Those are 2 specific scaffold matches but i don't know if these 2 teams had a series of them.
they also scheduled scaffold matches with the powers of pain...but the powers of pain refused and went to WWF...so what happened was the ended up facing ivan koloff and some other substitute that was added 2 paul jones clan...
Powers of Pain did the right thing by leaving for the WWF because it was just too risky for them (especially the Warlord). I don't see Warlord as having the balance & flexibility for a scaffold match...the Barbarian yes he's definitely capable.
on ppv yes but there were several on house shows both on this tour and on the years to follow. There was supposed to be one at GAB 88 with the LOD against the Powers of Pain but POP left the NWA before the show so it never happened.
GAB 91 had one as well. What I meant in my original posting how many did these two teams have on that tour there was at least 3 from the promos I've seen.
This was around 1983 or 84

I've always thought about this match for years. It would've been the ULTIMATE match up for the Road Warriors to face Hulk Hogan & Andre the Giant.

I know, I don't think I ever seen the Road Warriors and Andre the Giant crossing paths.

@bigpaulie68 I think that if Brody hadn't been murdered that match would've happened. You are right, it would have been a classic.

@Starsky5000 I think Andre would die if he fell thirty feet. He already had back problems.
