poor vid... few plants clone from just a cuttin.. (and generally need a smaller cutting)

using scissors cut a portion. 1 joint of leaves (for photosynthesis) and either cut IN water or immediately put in water... you dont want an air bubble in the stem to stop flow of nutrients in the cutting.

then put into a growth medium with enuff water to facilitate the root growth but not tight enuff to "strangle".. a combo of perlite, vermiculite and sand might be best (can transplant to a org medium later
