Thank you for this. It brought back so many memories. They just don't make children's drama like this anymore. My own 12 year old daughter has really enjoyed it too. Looking forward to settling down in front of The Box of Delights.
Thanks so much for uploading ! I didn't know of these books as a child and am reading them now as an adult but with the heart of a child...love them!!
Thanku sooo much for posting this!!!! There`s an old tree in a local wood that reminds me of green knowe. Even tho I`m on the wrong side of 35 i always sing the `evil fingers can`t catch me` when i walk past. Thank u again.
Fantastic; thankyou so much for uploading this. I bought a dodgy DVD with it on, but the 360p version here is actually watchable. There's so much more than I remember and I though there was more to do with the horse on the night of the storm. Must've imagined that bit!
Hi everyone, I too enjoyed watching this on TV when I was about 10, it has made every christmas special since then. I believe the original film was lost in a fire many years ago which is why the BBC has never re-run it on TV for the kids (and grown-ups!) of today. I cant understand why they cant buy a DVD from someone who video-taped the original and work some magic so they could air it on the TV. But I suppose that sounds too obvious?!
Blessings on you for posting this series! I have read and reread Boston's series of Greene Knowe books since I was very young, and have recently read The Children of Greene Knowe (my very favorite) to my daughter. Now, I can share this show with her, too! What a wonderful adaptation! Thank you so very much!
Finding these episodes I felt the same way as Tolly did when he opened the chest. It was treasure I thought was lost, but thanks to your kindness, it has been found again. Many, many thanks.
Wow this brings back memories, havn't seen this since I was a kid, I remember Green Noah and St. Christopher scared the life out of me, I think that's why I remembered it so much. Thank you for taking the time to upload it for everyone.
Once again wonderful to see this series albeit short and brought back a lot of happy memories-I doubt whether kids to day would sit for this length of time watching though-I reckon we were lucky back then. Thank goodness I didn;t stumble across this in the summer! :D otherwise watching the Christmas scenes would have just felt odd.
What a wonderful share! Thank you so much - this almost completes the things from my childhood that I want to see again - this was exquisite!... still looking for the Return of the Antelope (about the little people)... :-)
thankyou very much have been thinking about this for ages, stumbled on it by chance when i watched the MOONDIAL another great series for the 1980's thankyou once again :)
Thanks for putting this up, it brings back many memories, didn't they do a film version the chimneys of green knowe, somthing about a fire or maybe i'm getting confused, was 20 odd years ago! wish they made tv like this now!
Thank you so much for posting this for us all to enjoy all over again. I have each day waiting to see the next part, just like i did when it first was on tv. I wish the bbc would put it on a dvd. Do you have any other old bbc classics? Thanks again. you can go off the orange juice now lol
