I'm not sure if it's the sun that reverses but the earth rotation that is suppose to reverse but I'm not sure. Far as the question about a new era. Look up the age of aquarius to get a good idea. that's what they could have meant. they have descrip for every time period. but it's really unclear why seeing as there are only 4 mayan books still in existance. and their date goes farther then the surnatural or w.e this was a calender for the EARTH itself completing a cycle that happens every so often and they didnt exactly predict the invasion as their demise, they actually believed the europeans were a god they once worshipped, but you know how europeans fuck shit up for people.

Well, if California is bound to have a huge earthquake that will probably kill millions, why are there millions of people that live there? or like "we were born on land, so why even bother trying to swim?" i digress. simple answer tho really, because i think the mayans knew that it would be a help, or maybe they didnt want to be lazy and also they didnt predict the end of their civiliZation, they predicted the coming of white bearded gods.

but to get back on the real subject at hand, as you now many peeps tell about this(end of the world or whatever) but all their prediction are not matching, for instance in the bible, they say doom is going to be the dead walking the earth, starting form the plain of apocalypse somewere in the land of jesus, you belive california will have an earthquake, the scientist know the sun will have a critical episode of gamma ray and explosion, the pollar shift, even the aliens have a vertion of 2012...
