Also, it wasn't just Muslims that reintroduced the West to classical culture. Much of it came from the Byzantines fleeing the Ottomans (other Muslim invaders) that settled in Northern Italy and established schools. Most Arab additions to classical knowledge came from Persians and Hindus/Indians anyway. Our number system came from India. The great advances in medicine and astronomy came mainly from Persians living under Arab domination.
That one guy does not know what he is talking about. The success of Arab civilization was largely due to their adoption of the classical heritage of Ancient Greece and Rome. So Arabs did not so much bestow their culture on Europeans -- leading to the Renaissance, they just reintroduced Europe to its ancient culture that had been lost and ignored because of the church. Also he complains about Spanish kicking Muslims out? They should not have been there in the first place. They were invaders.
