Wow, I always thought the version with k.d. lang and m. peyroux was the best one. But now there's a tie!

I adored Robert in Ally McBeal and hated it when it was discontinued. I read that certain actors are known as series killers. I could not stand Hayden Panettiere in Ally McBeal - it was discontinued not too long after she joined. Did she kill it? I also could not stand Paget Brewster in Huff, the world's best series ever - only two seasons. Food for thought... those series killers.

You know, at the time I sorta hated Downey for sorta ****ing up the show by getting into drugs again.

I was pissed with him for a good while.

But I absolutely adore him and everything about him, even when he jumps around like a frog, cries uncontrollably, wastes his talent on Blockbuster movies, or runs naked.

Yeap, I'd think it was healthy for ANY person to look up to this guy.

Shows you can be in deep shit and still make it out.

Most of us are well aware this is a Joni Mitchell song, many of us just dont care. I personally LOVE this version.

getoil8; ALL of the songs on the Ally McBeal show were covers, & this was used in one of the episodes in Season 4. So obviously -- it had an 'original' version before this one. Not everyone keeps up with such things, and a LOT of people don't & never have listened to Joni -- it doesn't make them stupid. It just means they listen to different things. Regardless; i find Robert's rendition more moving than Joni's ~ her voice was too thin and reedy for me in the old days...to each his own, eah?
