Wow man, I own the same car, and you've definitely convinced me to swap out the t25 for the big t28. I definitely can tell what you mean by running out of puff at higher Rpm's, it's totally true. My concern was how big the increase in turbo lag would be, but it seems like (judging from your previous comment) it still provides that instant spool. And also, where'd you buy your greddy type s bov for an eclipse? I only find type rs or rz's for my eclipse..

@dnlestrella the reason it runs out is because the stock turbo does put out enough CFM to support the boost under heavy loads. Upgrading will fix this problem but to run any boost over stock your gonna need a bigger fuel pump and some sort of logger. Just an FYI that FP turbo he has is gonna run you about $900. better off going with a MHI evo III big 16g. Similar output with a tad bit faster spool up, and they run around $600. Look on ebay for that BOV. I know they have them on there.

@krayziebonejr Definitely! The T25 feels like it runs out of puff at higher RPM. The FP BIG-28 pulls harder and longer. I still have that instant spool the T25 offered, but now with the BIG-28 my car pulls hard all the way to redline.

@krayziebonejr depends on how much your willing to pay. the 16g will be cheaper but the FP is gonna put out more power if your gonna build it to its full potential

how hard would it be to do a awd conversion on a gst? cause i sant seam to find a gsx in my area and dont want fwd need to be able to handle very well in turns. cant have ass end sliding out with almost no comtroll of it to bring it back

Actually, the car can run right if u dont recirculate it. its called a maf translater. i have a 95 gsx and it runs perfect with the gm 3" maf and 2g translator.

dont get that bov for any car!!! its such a ricer bov, stright off the fast and the furious eclipse... get a good brand BOV like tial recirculated, or forge recirculated, are you going for perforemance or just sound? c'mon dude..

i use a crushed 1g bov on my 96 galant non recirced it sounds fine and holds boost.. if the bov holds boost then its good and if you like the sound thats even better

it wont run right if it vents to the atmosphere, you will need other mods besides this bov to make that sound

I own a 97 GS-T and have had it since new, it now has 84,000miles and have had nothing go wrong...just keep up with maintaining it, especially change the timing belt if it hasnt been done recently...oh ya, my Eclipse isnt stock either I did alot of mods back in 2000, the only recent thing I have done is timing belt, water pump, and bigger turbo (had big 16G but wasnt enough so bought a T4 :) anyways just look after it and you shouyldnt have any problems...enjoy!

if its a 5 speed you shouldnt have transmission trouble, i would stay away from automatics. Never heard of head gasket trouble but put a new timing belt on just in case because i broke mine the first day i bought my '99 and that does serious damage

It's a Greddy Type-S BOV. I have it recirculated (because I'm still running the stock 2g MAF) and the thing is still loud as all hell. Go figure.

yea my old gst was really loud recirculated too.. i got a 98 gsx with about 390 whp.. i miss my gst it was fun spining in even 3rd gear.
