  • Nice! I see you have a "fan" there close to you... spinning of happiness for your performance :-)

  • Its really good, keep it up, but do you think you can smooth the sound up on your amp a bit, a little less distortion, because if you did you could probably play Tom Sawyer and Limelight on the same amp setting, kicks ass, keep up the good work, and how much did that Strat cost having the Humbugging pickups, and I'm guessing its a deluxe strat because of the Humbugging Pickups, so I'm guessing anywhere from $1500 to $2300?

  • TeddyZ!!! greatest kid drummer on the planet...awesome job dude sounded awesome

  • ??? For Rush its Neil Peart, its either your posting random comments or I'm not getting the drift.

  • Nice. : )

  • 5stars man!!

Your right tecnique looks like steve how from Yes!!

  • Thats a killer tone you got there

  • Do a duel cover of Good Mourning/Black Friday. I can tell you guys would do really well, due to your technical ability. Poland's notes are licks are pretty technical because his finger is messed.

  • Cool chords, but I don't see why Coroner is related to these guys in Technicality. Coroner reigns supreme with melodic technical thrash metal. First album kicks ass.

  • Wow You Are Great i Say 11000/10 GOOD JOB!

  • dude you kick ass

  • chords...who gives a rats ass, this man is good. I couln't even do this on Guitar Hero...in my dreams.

  • i can play subdivisions

  • good shit.... rush

  • Your the Man! Correct or incorrect on the cords You Rock. I'm no guitar player but that sounds damn good. Wish I could play like that. Peace Out

  • I want to learn how to play that song..

If theres eney good TUTs For beginners.

    or w.e x]

Just to play the solo is good for me.

  • Thanks for watching!

Please check out my youtube page, lots of good videos up there. And check it out, I will be creating a youtube page for my new band soon (16 year old drumming virtuoso on the kit!) so subscribe! Killer band vids coming soon, pro sound, pro video production, pro everything!

    Thanks,

    -RoB-

  • Good sound, but a lot of the playing and chords are incorrect. :)

  • lololololololololol u made the face again lolololol

  • dude ur a fuckin beast at guitar. r u in a band yet?

  • Very nice!

  • wow ur awesome at guitar u and teddy should round up a bassist and vocalist and make a band lol jk

  • Hey everyone, I just wanted to say thanks for stopping by and checking this out. Please check out my other videos. Comments and ratings are always welcome.

    Thanks,

    -rOb-

  • nice cover, is that a metal effect distortion pedal? I cant really tell

  • Thanks for the kind words. Actually I am using a Line 6 POD with the Mesa Boogie Amp sim. I didnt realise this until after I recorded this, but my pickup was raised too high (Close to the strings) and that was giving me more distortion than normal, I have fixed this and my tone is a lot better now. I still like how this turned out even if the distortion was a bit much.

    Thanks,

    -rOb-

  • Hey, great version man!

How long have you been playing guitar?

  • excellent job, respect.

  • YOU ROCK!

  • Dude holy crap...UR AMAZING!

  • great video.

& the littleboy who plays the drums is awesome.

  • I just wanted to let everyone know that I have uploaded 2 new videos on my Youtube page. If anyone liked the sample of John Petrucci's "Damage Control" I did, then check this out, I plan to do the whole song and upload it.

Also I wanted to Thank everyone who stops by to listen and comment. Also I would like to encourage everyone to leave a comment.

What do you guys think about the little heavier arrangement here of this classic song?

    Thanks,

    -rOb

  • that was awesome dude and i liek the idea you had rock on

  • You had a great idea, Rob. Five stars. Don't worry about the jackasses who comment.

  • It's an odd thought having a 39 year old jamming with a 9 year old, but nice job. xD

  • To help keep mis-understandings to a minimum, let me clarify something. The drums you hear in my video are not the drummer for RUSH, but actually Teddy playing drums, awesome isn't he?

The video is me playing guitar and Teddy playing drums with RUSH playing low in the background.

OK, just wanted to make sure its understood that Teddy is playing the drums (VERY WELL!)

    Thanks,

    rOb

  • Your calling him a kid?. roflmao, anyways great guitar playing Tom Sawyer is one of my most favorite Rush songs "Respect" :D

  • Dang, a lot of people are mean. Awesome playing and awesome guitar! You could definitely hang with Teddyz

  • kid fuck u kid fuck u some of an asshole using wrong title................teddy ownz ur ass bitch

  • Not sure I know what the problem is here?

    Rob

  • wow dumbass. it was a response video to teddy and his drum cover for tom sawyer. learn your fucking facts before you run your mouth.

  • This was a reply to Teddy's video of him playing drums. I thought he was awesome so I wanted to pay him some respect by making this video, and this is how you show your respect for me, profanities and insults.

Thanks for the backup Scream, and thanks to all of you that take the time to listen and comment inteligently.

  • nice solo!!!

  • it people like you that i dislike... people like you make playing guitar look so easy to be so good that i think i can play it too =.=

the second minute was just freakin godly

  • Thanks Jawbreaker, I appreciate the kind comments.

Anyone can play guitar on a level equal to their favorite guitar player, if they are willing to put hours and hours in practicing. This video is the result of countless hours spent going over scales and technique, noise control, ETC. Ive been playing 22 years, and 6 of that was spent doing serious practice.

Moral of the story is: Anyone can rock on guitar if they just put the time into it.

Have fun, and practice, a lot...........

  • i practice my drums a lot. i know dedication. im happy to see that youve played the guitar for so long! this video is just encouragement for every musician

  • Nice playing

  • Hey, Rob Zombie! If you ever watch this, you need to do the vocals, for this. As its been pointed out here this is a little heavier version of Tom Sawyer and you would kill it!

LOL! I can hear it in my head right now.

    rOb.

  • GJ!!

  • I'm so damn sick of people saying OMG!!! that cover didn't sound exactly the same as the original song... If it did it would defeat the whole purpose of a cover, a cover is something you have to try and make your own, put your own spin on it, otherwise whats the point if it's going to be exactly the same. Awesome job man, I wish I knew how to play a guitar.

  • Very nice! :)

    What is your set-up?

  • Sorry to take so long, but work has been really crazy lately for me. The set up, Yamaha Pacifica 112-M, Earnie Ball Slinky strings, Graphite saddles, strings are as close as they can get to the frets. Sound, POD 2.0 (Mesa Boogie Amp Model) No Effects period. Roland VS-840 Digital Workstation using digital out to my PC sound card digital in. Recorded using a webcam and Adobe Audition 2.0.

  • waffles

  • LOL!

I would like to say that I'm surprised by the comments but actually I'm not. spacecas you have to be kiddin man! LOL!

My intention when making this was to do myself covering Rush Tom Sawyer, thats what I did. I could do another one and nail the tone level of distortion and effects used by Mr. Lifeson, but I'm not really excited about doing that. This is my sound...me covering Rush, with that said I would still like to thank everyone for checking this video out.

    -rOb

  • Yes I was Kidding.LoL.If I didn't think that You were good I wouldn't take the time to watch You play.. I just wanted to see how many people would reply back about my comment ..lol..Anyway thanx for posting something worth watching Man!....*Peace*

  • Not to bad for a beginner..Keep up the practice you will get it someday! Just don't give up Man it will come to you!... Remember this "If you play it he will come"

  • Dude, he was awesome, shut up.

  • Yeah I know he is but he has a whole life ahead of him..Plenty of room to learn more..Just think how good he is going to be in another 5 or 10 years from now...& to Your shut up remark...*KISS KISS LITTLE MAN*

  • Great job, just saw Rush this summer; was an awesome show.

  • this is prog rock not death metal, take some gain or treble off

  • Whoa. Distortion.

  • hey dude nice playing, i want to make a video of this, but idk what effects would be good for this song.

  • I didnt use any effects on the guitar, Just a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier no Reverb or anything. Alex from Rush uses a little flanger and a touch of reverb, sometimes he has some delay on the leads also. You may try those effects and see what you think. Thanks for the comment I was beginning to wonder if anyone else was gonna post. I think I will be putting up some more videos maybe this weekend. I think I'll try YYZ next. L8TR -Rob

  • nice job!

  • Thanks, Im a big Rush fan and my son showed me your Video on Youtube, I started playing along with you and the next thing I knew I was making this vid. Good job on the Drums. If we had someone to do the Bass, keyboards and vocals, we could do some RUSH covers with all the parts. If anyone watching can do the Bass, Keys, or vocals, please feel free to add to this. Hope you all enjoy the music.

    Thanks,

    Rob

  • kudos to both of you, you're both great musicians, find a bassist and maybe you can beat those south park guys
