Its really good, keep it up, but do you think you can smooth the sound up on your amp a bit, a little less distortion, because if you did you could probably play Tom Sawyer and Limelight on the same amp setting, kicks ass, keep up the good work, and how much did that Strat cost having the Humbugging pickups, and I'm guessing its a deluxe strat because of the Humbugging Pickups, so I'm guessing anywhere from $1500 to $2300?
Do a duel cover of Good Mourning/Black Friday. I can tell you guys would do really well, due to your technical ability. Poland's notes are licks are pretty technical because his finger is messed.
Cool chords, but I don't see why Coroner is related to these guys in Technicality. Coroner reigns supreme with melodic technical thrash metal. First album kicks ass.
Please check out my youtube page, lots of good videos up there. And check it out, I will be creating a youtube page for my new band soon (16 year old drumming virtuoso on the kit!) so subscribe! Killer band vids coming soon, pro sound, pro video production, pro everything!
Hey everyone, I just wanted to say thanks for stopping by and checking this out. Please check out my other videos. Comments and ratings are always welcome.
Thanks for the kind words. Actually I am using a Line 6 POD with the Mesa Boogie Amp sim. I didnt realise this until after I recorded this, but my pickup was raised too high (Close to the strings) and that was giving me more distortion than normal, I have fixed this and my tone is a lot better now. I still like how this turned out even if the distortion was a bit much.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have uploaded 2 new videos on my Youtube page. If anyone liked the sample of John Petrucci's "Damage Control" I did, then check this out, I plan to do the whole song and upload it.
Also I wanted to Thank everyone who stops by to listen and comment. Also I would like to encourage everyone to leave a comment.
What do you guys think about the little heavier arrangement here of this classic song?
To help keep mis-understandings to a minimum, let me clarify something. The drums you hear in my video are not the drummer for RUSH, but actually Teddy playing drums, awesome isn't he?
The video is me playing guitar and Teddy playing drums with RUSH playing low in the background.
OK, just wanted to make sure its understood that Teddy is playing the drums (VERY WELL!)
This was a reply to Teddy's video of him playing drums. I thought he was awesome so I wanted to pay him some respect by making this video, and this is how you show your respect for me, profanities and insults.
Thanks for the backup Scream, and thanks to all of you that take the time to listen and comment inteligently.
Thanks Jawbreaker, I appreciate the kind comments.
Anyone can play guitar on a level equal to their favorite guitar player, if they are willing to put hours and hours in practicing. This video is the result of countless hours spent going over scales and technique, noise control, ETC. Ive been playing 22 years, and 6 of that was spent doing serious practice.
Moral of the story is: Anyone can rock on guitar if they just put the time into it.
i practice my drums a lot. i know dedication. im happy to see that youve played the guitar for so long! this video is just encouragement for every musician
Hey, Rob Zombie! If you ever watch this, you need to do the vocals, for this. As its been pointed out here this is a little heavier version of Tom Sawyer and you would kill it!
I'm so damn sick of people saying OMG!!! that cover didn't sound exactly the same as the original song... If it did it would defeat the whole purpose of a cover, a cover is something you have to try and make your own, put your own spin on it, otherwise whats the point if it's going to be exactly the same. Awesome job man, I wish I knew how to play a guitar.
Sorry to take so long, but work has been really crazy lately for me. The set up, Yamaha Pacifica 112-M, Earnie Ball Slinky strings, Graphite saddles, strings are as close as they can get to the frets. Sound, POD 2.0 (Mesa Boogie Amp Model) No Effects period. Roland VS-840 Digital Workstation using digital out to my PC sound card digital in. Recorded using a webcam and Adobe Audition 2.0.
I would like to say that I'm surprised by the comments but actually I'm not. spacecas you have to be kiddin man! LOL!
My intention when making this was to do myself covering Rush Tom Sawyer, thats what I did. I could do another one and nail the tone level of distortion and effects used by Mr. Lifeson, but I'm not really excited about doing that. This is my sound...me covering Rush, with that said I would still like to thank everyone for checking this video out.
Yes I was Kidding.LoL.If I didn't think that You were good I wouldn't take the time to watch You play.. I just wanted to see how many people would reply back about my comment ..lol..Anyway thanx for posting something worth watching Man!....*Peace*
Not to bad for a beginner..Keep up the practice you will get it someday! Just don't give up Man it will come to you!... Remember this "If you play it he will come"
Yeah I know he is but he has a whole life ahead of him..Plenty of room to learn more..Just think how good he is going to be in another 5 or 10 years from now...& to Your shut up remark...*KISS KISS LITTLE MAN*
I didnt use any effects on the guitar, Just a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier no Reverb or anything. Alex from Rush uses a little flanger and a touch of reverb, sometimes he has some delay on the leads also. You may try those effects and see what you think. Thanks for the comment I was beginning to wonder if anyone else was gonna post. I think I will be putting up some more videos maybe this weekend. I think I'll try YYZ next. L8TR -Rob
Thanks, Im a big Rush fan and my son showed me your Video on Youtube, I started playing along with you and the next thing I knew I was making this vid. Good job on the Drums. If we had someone to do the Bass, keyboards and vocals, we could do some RUSH covers with all the parts. If anyone watching can do the Bass, Keys, or vocals, please feel free to add to this. Hope you all enjoy the music.
Nice! I see you have a "fan" there close to you... spinning of happiness for your performance :-)
