man--this is so much fun to watch--wish the sound was better! What is also cool is the date my Mom's birthday--9/11...though who would of ever dreamed that date would go down in infamy much later.
Man I loved that song when it came out--that was some FINE dancing and moving to the beat--thanks for the post--American Bandstand was great and don't forget Soul Train--it was as well <3
How could Dick Clark commute to the Prospect Studios (formely ABC Television Center) to do Bandstand and still make it back to New York City's Elysse Theater to do The $20,000 Pyramid in time at the same time?
@tyrese3745: I read somewhere back in the day that Clark would tape two shows of "Bandstand" at a time every other weekend, and then in the middle of the week would tape 5 shows of "Pyramid" across two days. (That's usually how weekday gameshows were taped then.)
@tyrese3745 Well I tell you why, for MONEY, Dick Clark was VERY well known to demand money and he would do anything for it, not bad, just smart, he was in demand, he named his price and they paid him. His fortune is massive. He is just a moneyman and you cant fault that,, but then his heath as we know is not good, I hope he recovers from that heart attack. But it seems like that caught up with him and the lord told him to slowww down. MY opinion.
Good video! This is from the days when camera shots were held long enough that you could actually WATCH the performance... not like the fast-cut technique that everyone seems to use today.
The Spinners -- One of the most underrated groups of all time! A tremendous act, especially during the Philippe Wynne era!

It's cool to see this today, even though it was obvious they just lip-synched the song.
