  • Wow, people are leaving such idiotic comments! "this is ugly!" "you bought a fucking mac!?" "the shader is wrong!"

Anyway, that's cool dude, old video so I bet you're pretty good with Unity now if you stuck to it. I'm working with Unity now, buying licenses, softwares and hardware is just normal when you're working on decent projects, it's a worthy investment and I read you say you've made over 50k euros so that's pretty awesome! I just thought I'd leave a decent comment for a change.

  • boring and every body can do it

  • @edeksumo1

This was made before Unity got popular. I did it to bring the engine to the attention of other people. Have a look at my more recent work for stuff which is orders of magnitude more impressive than this.

  • @edeksumo1 Let's see your amazing video game that you made with your complicated game engine which only you have the intelligence to use.

  • Hey im making a 3d mmorpg with unity 3d if anyone wants to help me chack out my video.

  • Yeah, I made this 2 years ago when unity was only available on the mac...see recent videos for tips on your work.

  • @VirtualAutonomy i was wondering how you made a custom skybox, i cant figure it out!

  • Can you make whole levels in 3ds max and import them as FXB???? I'm sorry if it seems like a goofy question, but I'm used to using '3d Gamestudio' and have grown tiered of the BSP editors!!

  • is this same process with source sdk mapping stuff for counter strike source?

  • ...you bought a fucking mac just for unity.

  • @risingbournemouth

Since then I've made over £50k working with this program. You need to be able to tell when it's worth splashing out for this sort of thing. In this case it was a no brainer.

  • @VirtualAutonomy congratulation on the success :)

  • @risingbournemouth unity is good. And macs are too.

  • the sky is made good

  • good job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • help me please can i have a direct download link to the software you used ( 3d studio max pleeaseasease il sub you!!! ) or anyone else that see's this comment??

  • @samsnowball I guess you are not aware of the fact that 3ds max is not legally available for free... And unless you got a few thousand bucks to spend or are a student (still more than $1000) use free 3d apps like Blender instead.

  • @samsnowball err, b4 i

    KICK your little

ASS i'll tell you to research on

TORRENTS then find yourself around the

.COM thingy that we call Web

    ;) ;)

  • @cholasimmons ha, lol nice way of doing that =) but, i got a torrent website already I haven't checked it yet

  • The skybox looks amazing, and the lighting and lens flare!! Really neat! Cheers!

  • 0:24 Your normal map is inverted

  • the sky looks amazing. it's a great picture.

the entire landscape and picture as a whole would look better if the textures and models were more detailed so there wasn't such a contrast between the land and sky.

  • Can some one give me a link in the private Message.

Where You can get a nice [Turtrial](Iknow wrong spelled) To Make

    A floor/And put objects Intro The Unity3D.

Thankyou I hope you will PM me

Or can some One Explain it? ty please in a prive message

  • Hey :) How do I change the sky as well as add my own objects? I'd like to know ;o Nice video by the way :)

  • it looks like your skybox has two suns? is this a mistake or is it on a diferent planet or something because that would be cool

  • How did you make the grass? I'm trying to put some in my game.

  • @ImSpartan9 To make grass: create a terrain, select the terrain in the hierarchy, select place plants(flower icon), click edit details, then add grass texture, then for the detailed texture select grass, click add, then paint grass on the terrain

  • If you bought a Mac Mini how did you get fraps? Fraps doesn't work with OS X

  • That's correct, fraps doesn't work on the mac. Unity, back when it was mac only, could still publish content to windows. The only machine fast enough to record the footage was my laptop (win xp).

  • Oh yah i forgot about that. But the Mac wasn't fast enough to record? Screenflow is my personal favourite and takes up hardly any CPU, try it out if you haven't already :)

  • @EvilPinkBunnyRabbits try screenflow. i use it very often and it gives unbelievable good capture to you...

  • If you look down a bit you'll see i said i use screenflow. But thanks anyways :)

  • @EvilPinkBunnyRabbits oopsidaisy, being a fast one :b

  • didnt like it. :(

  • It's a shame, the engine is rather good. You'd probably like Unreal but the content can't be delivered via a browser.

  • how do u aply skyboxes to ur game?

  • where you get that music track from bro...

  • what about scrips? could never figere them out. could you help?

  • where did you learn to do what you did? or was it all just experimentation? I'm familiar with 3dsmax, i'm just clueless about Unity

  • I taught myself everything I know about 3D. Currently it's my full time job at an educational establishment in the UK. Because I'm getting so many questions I can see that a tutorial would be useful to a lot of people. I'll be sure to post one on my blog in the near future.

  • @VirtualAutonomy please tell me how to make grass and mountains please

  • Great WORK !!

I liked the video before also !!

please may U tell me the name of the Song ?

  • You modeled the terrain in Unity? This runs super fast in my browser, thanks for the demo.

  • It will be coming out on windows in within the next 4-6 weeks.

  • is this only for mac?

  • Currently it's only available on mac, though you can also publish content for windows machines (pro version).

The authoring environment is coming to windows this year.

  • Unity has just been released for Windows! yey!

  • youtube should give one "asshole" star and one "genius" star that youg et to give out every week, seeing as it may be impossible to kick jelleoelle's ass in real life

  • I've had a lot of experience but a newcomer should also be able to pick it up fairly quickly. Unity 3D is meant to speed up development, it's very well documented has some useful tools.

  • Wow, did you have any earlier experience with creating 3D games before this? Or is this from scratch!?

  • Well, it's something I knocked up in a few hours as a test. The terrain engine is fantastic; quick and easy to work with. If it looks like a game from five years ago that's fine by me, I didn't invest that much emotion into it. ;]

  • @jelleoelle

Ha! I bet you don't even know what a shader is. And if you say it has to do with the shade, your wrong.

  • I had to add the video again as the sound screwed up, no one likes bad sound.
