The tutor was definitely very nice but it's hard to follow the compositing with the limited screen view. It would be nice to see the entire node view or even better if this sample portal effect had a blend file available to download. Is that possible at all?
i dont understund this fucken node editor.... if i do everything same like you its works, but whenewer i do something by my self.... doesnt work... this is to complicatly for me.... i am to stupid for this hehehe lol
ok... i figured out all my other problems. Now the only problem I have is that the first world is still showing (and the second one isn't) after I go through the portal. I checked everything and can't figure out why. What do you think I missed?
The only thing you need to care about when rendering is that 'Do Composite' is activated and that the image you want is connected to the output->composite node.
i'm still having the same problem i described on part 2. On the bottom of the screen, it shows the world 1 and world 2 in the render the way it should, but there is no green glowing portal. on the top, where the sky should be, there is just a black screen with half the portal, but with only black inside. I think it's screwed up where you mix the portal and the rest. I can find anything wrong. Any suggestions or mistakes you think i may have made?
Hello I was wondering if you could make an Blender tutorial where something explodes, and there is smoke or dust coming from the object and the dust flies through the camera.
Well, I think about it, but I won't guarantee. Anyway it could take a while, before I make the next tutorial. But I really appreciate that you tell me what you are interested in.
awsome tutorial... before this i bearly every used nodes but i had no idea they could be so useful... the only thing i would recomend to make your tutorial better is to use a program like camtasia to enphisise certain parts
To be honest: I have no idea. I have only used the game engine for physic calculations, yet. But I think it would be very difficult to make a similar effect in the game engine.

@PureT3x4n, To render a single picture? Press F12. For the entire film you will have to do a batch render. Google it.

could you maybe upload the .blend file? It would be a lot easier for me to figure out where the problem is.

Ok good to know. I would guess you had the most problems with the Z combine, because it is really hard to explain.
