@lenard859 certain places get them. Like you cannot have a solar eclipse in North America at the same time in Japan...They move around the planet depending on what year and day it is....Even if its on the same side of the earth, it may not be fully visible...Google it

FYI, this video is from NHK--the Japanese National Broadcasting Corp., and not from China. So, the female reporter is speaking in Japanese. Female commentators in tandem with another reporter generally give the impressed responses, such as 'wow' or 'isn't that amazing?' That's the way they do things in Japan.

The video was taken aboard a cruise ship positioned off of Iwo Jima in the South Pacific, about 1000 km south of Tokyo. Much of Japan did not get to see the eclipse due to clouds and rain.
