You do know that Hinduism is a philosophy, not technically a religion. Their gods are metaphorical for the moral teachings they tell. There is no supernatural belief. It's an eastern philosophy, all eastern philosophies like zen, taosim etc believe in ego-loss and spiritual enlightenment through awareness and mindfulness. Mohammed taught very similar teachings to Krishna, they were both enlightened people.

Thats why it isn't exactly as widespread as Christianity or Islam. Hinduism sought to convince, it wanted you to believe it yourself not be forced to. It also motivated people to pursue greater knowledge and understanding of things.
