  • Great flying supercub, I fly a Powered Parachute but want to one day get into this type of flying. Thanks

  • Do A Backflippp!!!!!

  • looks fun

  • looks so fun

  • As someone stated in an earlier post, the price of an ultralight can cost as little as a few thousand for a used model. However, you will never see my butt strapped in one. You are taking a huge risk flying someones bargain discount flying contraption. Yes, LSA trikes are more expensive but the safety and testing of these planes are uncontested.

  • @eguerra4001 A few thousand is too much to pay for an ultralight. Airplanes are too expensive period, toys for rich men. I love flying, but the more I look into it, the more sick I am of it. It disgusts me now. If you could buy an old airplane for a couple of hundred bucks and fix it up it would be a cool thing, but with the FAA and all its damn regulations and licence requirements and bullshit, you're wasting you time dreaming about flying unless you are a fucking rich old fart.

  • First of all, great video. Could be a little longer though. Secondly, if it is an ultralight, no license is required. It can only weigh 250 lbs, hold only one person, and only 5 gallons of gas. If you do go for the sport pilot cert. Then the LSA can hold two people(one being the pilot), can go up to 120kts, and fly to 10000 ft.

  • do you need a pilots liscence or atc clearance to fly an ultralight (i am very uneducated)

  • @717fan18 u dont need any lisence in the US i believe, at least thats what my friend from the US told me

  • i want one B)

  • What kind of camera did you use ?

  • how much is it the trike ultralight ?

  • I owned and flew a Quuicksilver yrs ago and absolutely loved it. No words can describe the feeling of flight. Especially in an ultralight craft.

  • Thats awesome, how much is one and do you have to have a license?

  • @SlimSHady88222 Yes you nned a light sport or technically you might be able to get away with a powered parachute if you say you converted the trike. Go to barnstormers because the price can vary. Ive seen single seaters like this go for 2500 and some 2 seats go for as much a $100,000, single seat est. can find a nice one for 3500 and a 2 seat 8000 mabe if you find a deal. And powerd parachute license-$800 est. get a light sport though then you can do more than ultralights if you choose to do so.

  • @Ghillie334 cool, thanks for letting me know

  • This is one of my favorite aviation videos on YouTube...The entire production is well executed ;-) Looking forward to seeing another on by supercub78...

  • that would be fun as shit to do

  • What's the price

  • do u talk to atc or no

  • i want one of those! how much are they ?

  • @glenmann62 depending on the brand and model, usually between 30 and 80 thousand dollars, however you don't need any type of FAA certifications or training to fly ultralight aircraft, however light or sport aircraft require atleast a recreational pilots licence or a sport pilot licence or the recommended a private pilots licence which with that you can buy a used 1969 Piper Cherokee and fly that will be much more fun and fulfiling

  • @glenmann62 I was just looking at used ones ranging from 3 to 14 thousand USD

  • in terms of a license, it depends on where you are- here in canada you need license for sure, but in the states it depends on how the trike is registered-if its a lsa (light sport aircraft)-yes. either way you need some training, even professional pilots-guys flying jets & airlines, need some transition training. if u'v never flown then its even more important that u get some training...it could save ur life & some cash in the long run

  • You need a sport pilot liscence through FAA a qualified instructor - trainer,You need so many hours in flight time and pass a training course. Then you will be tested.Because of 9-11 you need a background check.. I know. I have a sport pilots liscense now. These are more than ultralights. They are 2 people and the fuel amount is greater than a ultralight requirements. A few other things ,too.

  • You dont need a liscence to fly an ultralight, its because they fly so low

  • You do need a license. Any arial vehicle requires a license

  • @gman0productions no you dont. there are almost no rules on these things.

  • @gman0productions You mean like a kite and hang-gliders?

  • @badboyforlife10195 uhm..... these 80-100hp ultralights can fly quite high! if there's only one person in a two-seater ultralight, it has enough power to go all the way up to $23,000 feet! Not to mention some of them can come with a turbocharger Rotax 914 engine which pushes them even farther up in altitude! One of these trickster toys when flying up around Mt. Kilimanjaro and they were like at 40,000ft and needed oxygen masks!

  • @EasternMerchant

I used to have one until I crashed it. But I didnt need a license

  • @badboyforlife10195 how did you crash?

  • @SizzlinNinja Screwed up the Wing and Engine.

  • @SizzlinNinja Sorry, keyboard cut out. Anyways. I hit the ground to hard which caused the wheel to snap and then I flipped and broke my arm and leg. Now I just fly a piper j3 cub. Which requires a liscence.

  • @EasternMerchant

You need a mask, at 23,000 feet, too. The air is really quite "thin", even at that altitude. Most people begin to get altitude sickness between 13,000 and 16,000 feet ASL. (Personally, I always got disoriented and began to hyperventilate, at around 10,000 feet).

By the way, hyperventilation is the body's response to a lack of sufficient oxygen reaching the brain.

  • i want to buy one. Where can i get one and do i need a loan for something like this?

  • They are pricey. The 912s . You can get the 582. They go by the cc size of the engine. like a motorcycle or snowmachine. If you have the electronic gages like shown in this model more pricey than regular gages. Accessories add to the price. I recomend a w/shield. Less wind and better for bugs. Biggest hazard - Birds and waterfowl.

  • how much does it cost?

  • $35,000

  • That looks like so much fun!

  • It is more fun as far I am concerned and more accessible to those of us with limited income. Best of both worlds as far as I can see it.

  • do you need a special license to fly an ultraluight?

  • no license required!

  • Sure do, you need a Sport Pilot rating with a WSCL endorsement to fly the trike in the movie. You can fly a FAR 103 aircraft if you hold a valid drivers license and I suggest have had professional instruction. You cannot buy a new FAR103 currently without proof of instruction from a qualified instructor.

    Hope this helped.

  • One day I'll build a makeshift runway in some farm house and buy me one of these. Is the sport pilot license difficult to get as in a professional pilot license?

  • Just found the video and was really pleased to see how much you enjoyed the flight. For those who have not tried it "you must" There are so few instructors available and NJ Ultralights is one of the few places you can experience this on the East Coast.

Great Video, all the Best Stephen (the pilot)

  • Nice video :)

    Greeting from Poland :)

  • How hard is it to keep the bar steady with all the wind?

  • actually not good to relax in i meant good for adventurous people :)

  • great plane if you want to relax!

  • I'm considering flying to Trinca tomorrow morning (Cessna 172)...this video has convinced me to do it. Thanks for taking the time to post it!

  • Nice Landing! Must've been bumpy.

  • Thanks for the flight, always a fun experience.

  • Thanks for the view of Trinca. Trinca is hallowed ground and I'm embarrased to say that I get emotional when I see that airport. I did my first solo there and more. The last time I was there was for the memorial of Pete Billow. I miss him and the airport. Please keep this airport alive!

  • Awesome video! I wish I did not get motion sickness, but the best on YouTube yet. Thanks for posting.

  • 70mh is an overstatement. 45-55mh is what those things fly on average.

  • No its not. I have a Pegasus 503 and it easily tops 70mph. The design of the wind, the engine, make it easily able to get to 70 mph.

  • what wing are u using?

  • Great Video, I haven't seen a better video yet.

Its good that you didn't take the ambient noise out and replace it with music. It gives you the feel of being in it yourself. I want to fly an Trike even more after seeing this Video.

Great Job, really Awesome video that captures the real feel of flight. thank you.

  • my sentiments exactly... now if only the microphone had been shielded better from the wind to avoid that pesky wind shear noise...

  • I fly powered paracutes but I would like to get into triking, is it very hard.

  • No at all, very easy flying! I love it.

  • Thanks

  • up and down in less than 5mins, amazing stuff the ultralight. are there many rules governing flying them?

  • Too fast for me!!! Thanks for the vid anyway.
