Wow, again, I'm just drawn to listening to this melody you came up with. You stayed true to the original, but definitely made it your own. I don't think people realize how genious this is. It's going beyond perfection. That is nearly impossible to do. Morrissey is a master craftsmen with vocal melody and you are master class yourself on this one. @phillyblizzard Thanks! That's a very interesting question. Partly it's that I found the Smiths through Jeff Buckley who I admired very much, especially when I was quite young. Buckley seemed to have a knack for covering really good songs of all genres and bringing something new to them (Hallelujah is the famous example). I try to do that when I do covers. I try. Not everyone likes the liberties I take. Some people think covers are lame. I play the songs that mean so much to me because I can.

Wow...usually when I hear a cover, I can't help but make comparisons to the original. But all I could think about when watching you perform this was what an amazing song it is, and how powerful the lyrics are. Thank you for the amazing interpretation.
Oh, and I love the reverb. Sounds very lush. I think I have a new crush :)

Hi i love the smiths, i was born in the same hospital as morrissey and know all the places he connected to his songs. i usually hate any covers of their songs. you did a good job. and you have a lovely tone to your voice. well done.

This may sound strange, but after the song was finished it was like I could still hear you singing, very very softly. It was very strange to experience, but your cover was superb !

Wow, I've heard many versions and covers of this song but you seem to have some connection with it that I generally don't see.

@phillyblizzard Thanks! That's a very interesting question. Partly it's that I found the Smiths through Jeff Buckley who I admired very much, especially when I was quite young. Buckley seemed to have a knack for covering really good songs of all genres and bringing something new to them (Hallelujah is the famous example). I try to do that when I do covers. I try. Not everyone likes the liberties I take. Some people think covers are lame. I play the songs that mean so much to me because I can.

@erinmerle what morrissey did, and what did him great is that he mixed philosofy and aestetics.. but might it be so that you dont lable yourself a thinker and this is why you just dont care?

@IStehSHIT Your vague and improperly used abstract language has me shaking in my boots! FYI aesthetics is a branch of philosophy. There is a difference between "aesthetics" and being an "aesthete" in the Oscar Wilde sense.

I first heard you on YouTube last night having decided to check out your cover of Reel Around The Fountain. Erin, I put you in the same league as Katie Melua, Karen Carpenter, etc. Never-the-less, you still can stand alone as a wonderful singer/musician, and, I presume, songwriter. You've knocked me out! Woh, great. That has potential to be more intimate and sublime. Definitely don't hide your voice inside so much reverb. I've had a weird fascination about the synaesthesia for a few years now. Interesting and complex stuff, and oddly beautiful too. Keep posting music.
