He becomes evil and you gotta fight him a few times. but this isn't Luigi. This is dimentio, with a giant robot-thing that has a luigi head. Luigi just happened to have some sort of special power all along that Dimentio took advantage of.

Has anyone else noticed that in EVERY Paper Mario game the final boss happens the same, you collect the "Stars" (or Pure Hearts) and then when you're at the boss, they become invincible, then the things you collected come and make them not invincible, and heal you. o.O

That's a common thing in video games - the idea that the items you collect are the only thing that can defeat the final boss - it's not just Paper Mario. Look at Zelda as another example. The Master Sword was the only thing that could defeat Ganondorf - same with Bellum and Malladus to the Phantom Sword and Lokomo Sword, respectively.

@LukLIessNick they couldn't send their wishes to you without the Crystal Star flying back to the hometown place, so technically, so the wishes that could only be heard were sent by the crystal star, and you got healed because the wishes weakened the Shadow Queen to the point where Peach could heal you, so the Crystal Stars are still the thing that heals you
