And that car runs perfectly to this date. I find it ironic that people vouch for Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, etc. as reliable cars. One of the biggest issues those cars had coming into the shop my dad worked in was a cracked head. He said it was because the expansion of aluminum is so rapid and most imports have used aluminum heads for a long time, and that causes lots and lots of cracks. He also said that the repairs for the average Japanese import was about double for the same on his 429.

its aluminum one bad over heat could crack or warp any aluminum head your dads 429 is most likely cast iron its not so susceptible to heat change but the down fall is its alot heavier hence a lighter aluminum head

Actually, boost is a replacement for compression not displacement..

Example, a 9.6:1 compression motor with 10psi(I'm not taking into account the size of the turbo here) Would essentially have, 15.63:1 compression.

When it comes down to it, there is no replacement for displacement, just compression.
