  • I remember as a kid watching the ATV title, hoping something good was coming on, then being confronted with the Crossroads titles and music and crying "ooooh !&$#!!! Time to play outside...."

  • This IS hilarious.

  • The ATV In Colour Caption at the beginning had different music from the other one, and it's given less of a Scare Factor.

  • Slightly different ATV drumroll

  • Mrs Overall!

  • that's the patronizing middle-class mainstream media for you

  • Oh my goodness! This brings back memories! :-)

  • I think Crossroads(the orginal)was unfairly knocked,what it did have a bad habit of wriitng out popular characters,Meg,The Hunters,Miss Diane,Miss Luke etc.

Don't get mr started don the awful remakes!

  • nice theme tune for this programme, little else to recommend it,it was a favourite for the coffin dodgers though,it was revived and died again, big brother?you could have a world plague and the daily star would still have big brother on the front page, better to get a life i would say

  • Superb...thanks.

  • hilarious (i know it cAUSE I SAW IT IN 100 WORST PROGRAMMES LOLOLOLOL) THAT IS HARDLY A GOOD RECOMENDATIN FOR "KNOWING" ANY PROGRAMME HA WHAT A TIT. I CAN'T GET OVER THAT ONE THAT REALLY IS TRULY NAIVELY FUNNY.

  • I bet Fossy hated MG Rover cars too! Probably never drove or owned one of those either like most of the people who criticised them. Crossroads suffered the same treatment.

  • It's like a bad RPG isn't it :p THE CHEF WILL NOT TALK UNTIL YOU HAVE ACTIVATED THE WRATH OF STAFF!

  • Yes, and they also include "most" programmes in the "worst" its also featured in the Best Soap Moments also. So its all fair in love and war.

Well I may have an advantage in as much as I've got the entire fan club archive of videos to view. I've yet to see a wobbly set. I've seen plenty in Corrie, but ain't found one in Crossroads yet. I did watch it in the mid-late 80s which is why I rediscovered it later. (UK Gold too) Anyway.. we'll agree to disagree I suppose.

  • I don't watch Neighbours either.

I remember Crossroads as I have seen tv shows of the 100 worst tv shows ever and Crossroads is always there. The acting, the sets, you are only 27, so you cant have seen much more than me.

  • I usually, when someone just replies with "it was shite" ask why they think that. However, seen as you're only 24 you haven't got a clue what you're talking about. Feel free to provide a list of scenes showing why it was "shite" and i'll provide double why it wasn't! The first-ever episode of Neighbours also opens the same way, my goodness if people think that opening to Crossroads is "hilarious" you'll be pissing your knickers to Neighbours.

  • There were only three channels, actually.

Well it only had a few thousand less viewers than Coronation Street, so it must have done something right. Sometimes, it even - shock horror - had more viewers than Corrie.

Did I say you were the above? No - It was the general view of what a Crossroads fan was - seen as we're just being very none descriptive.

  • add to that the fact that most people couldn't recieve the third channel - BBC-2!!!

  • I don't read the Sun and I am NOT unemployed. Nor do I watch Love Island. I watch Big Brother though.

It got 18 million viewers because there were only 4 channels to watch. Kiss my teeth!

  • @fossy111 FOUR Channels???!! That wasn't until 1982 my boy. We had to endure this shit for many years before that! I don't read The Sun either. Does anybody anymore?

  • Crossroads? Oh, of course it was.. it was watched by people who read The Sun and were unemployed. Its like Love Island and such programmes, all shite lasts 24 years and has 18 million viewers, I forgot.

  • I am not unemployed, nor do I read The sun or watch love island.

It got 18 million viewers cos then there were only 4 channels. Kiss my teeth.

  • Well I did fail to see what was funny about it. Compact and Emergency Ward Ten both opened in the same style. Hardly funny.

  • cos it was shite!

  • I have this episode on one of the dvds that Network DVD released. Hello Ian, Alex, both Mikes, Craig, Doug and some other Crossroads members. How are you? I am feeling good. Crossroads is the best soap opera and not rubbish at all. Take care for now. Daryl xo :)
