Oliver Humperdink changed Jeff Van Kamp's height. Jeff is not 6'8", he's 6'6". He currently works as a deputy sheriff in Pensacola, FL. That's why he left wrestling, because he always wanted to work in law enforcement.
Used to have this on VHS back in the day.....BTW, this was not the Sid Vicious Humongous. Murdoch cut a great promo after this, wish I could find it.
so needless to say, when we got back to school on monday thats all we talked about, for the WHOLE FUCKIN WEEK! Thanks mid south for stunting my elementary education at in good ole Innis LA.
@kixxclub We did the same thing. Even the girls in my class were talkin' about what happened that weekend on Mid South and it wasn't just about the R&R Express and Terry Taylor either,they were talkin' about the badass matches too. Mid South was no joke back then-I miss those days,
I grew up in Memphis and I think every territory had a different Lord Humungus. We had Sid Vicious and a guy who was a football coach and a teacher at a local high school. Great gimmick. Capn' Dick sells the shit out of that submission move at the end. He was awesome.
Obvious blade job. Murdoch reaches under the ring for the device, holds it in his left hand (between thumb and forefinger), and then blades after the fat guy with the hockey mask hits him in the forehead.
@SmilingSynic Bill Watts revamped Mid South as the Universal Wrestling Federation in early 1986 and it operated until the end of 1987 when it was sold to Jim Crockett Promotions and dismantled soon after. I really wished Crockett would have kept it active as a separate organisation.
Not Sid, but Jeff Van Camp. This was probably the biggest debut EVER given to a new Mid-South wrestler. Murdoch was one of the top 2 or 3 guys in the area at the time, and Humongous just rolled over him.
Just walk away... and I will spare your life.

@seanalf I remember those two. the 1st one who was the high school coach was Mike Starks, then Sid Vicious. This one is Jeff Van Kamp.

The guys wears a hard shelll mask on his face and steel spikes on his forearms...yep, that makes for a believeable wrestling match.

How long did Mid South close after this?

@SmilingSynic Sorry--right hand

@SmilingSynic 2 years, give or take a few months

@SmilingSynic A little less than 2 years later is when Watts sold them to JCP. They didn't really "close", JCP just merged them into their own group.

@soln4suhreborn That was Watts hope when he sold it to the Crockett's, but they botched it like WWF botched the WCW invasion angle.
