Well I am not that strong in perspective theory my self (thats why I also asked on Twitter - but none seem to have answered yet). I might build a simple 3D scene later, and "shoot" some example scenes that might help clarify (also for my self). Will let you know - I really enjoy how you investigate things and will help if I can.
.. so I guess that starting a scene you would have some idea of where you stand (angle etc. i relation to the buildings) then start laying out a building.. and from that figure out the perspective at the same time as you figure out the scene...
Hi zoepiel, Great video and thoughts on perspective. I am not quite sure i entirely understand your question in the end, but have posted you link here on Twitter to see if someone has some more insight. Coming from a 3D background my self I try to imagine the scene eg. the bus scene as a 3D model. And as I understand perspective it is always "from where you stand".. so the distance from "you" to both the vanishing points are the same (in physical distance in the 3D model).
@larshilmar Ahhhh OK! So, if the vanishing points are always equidistant to your standing place, then if you are looking a little bit to your left, the picture plane will fall closer to the left vanishing point! That's extremely helpful! Thank you!
