I would love to know how much time was spent on this unnecessary 'collison feature' when in fact the time should have been spent on tweaking the drawbacks of the current game.

How about focusing on improving the time required for players to get the ball under control?, how about improving the passing?, maybe improve the AI and its ability to pick out runs? Or maybe getting players to run to the ball from a pass instead of standing there, waiting for it to be intercepted... just a thought.
