Had this been on the Rock of the Westies album like it should have been, it would have been the BEST song on the album. Such a shame. This is such a classic. EJ fan since 1975
beautiful and sad and so sweetly performed with such feeling. a bonus track on the Rock of the Westies CD, which was the first album i ever bought. i was 10.
Thanks for posting this very good song, RonnieFriend. I remember the first time I heard it many years ago, and being positvely surprised. This solo arrangement was the last thing I'd have expected from a Rock Of The Westies out-take. Dare I say that was the reason it ddn't make it to the album, which makes me dread Rock Of The Westies even more... Considering the album was such a huge hit, Sugar On The Floor would be an Elton classic now.
The vocal on this recording is superb.

One of my favorite lesser-known Elton songs.

I think this cover is just stupendous. I listened to Kiki's version and it just didn't grip me as much as this.

Just gorgeous. A beautiful song, and so beautifully played. I wish it was more well-known. It deserves to be.
