I hiked down to the Falls in 1969 with a church youth group, staying with the Havasupai Indians for a week, and hiking to the other falls. One of the most memorable experiences of my life. My first reaction to seeing the Havasu Falls, like you did, looking down at the turquoise waters, was speechlessness. The switchback trail on the way back up was, quite literally, killer ~ we walked~ but it was well worth it.
