The difficulty was on easy? Really the dumbest engine ever, you should try GNUChess 4.0 or 5.0 or maybe Crafty 19.3.. both free and strong chess engines.. or you could play me if you have the time, i can guarantee that i'm 10x better than those wizard chess players

d6 is not a bad opening if you follow it up with Nf6 (pirc) or g6 then Bg7 (modern). the pirc used to be my favorite, but i don't play it as much now.

I feel pretty stupid. I've lost to the Ravenclaw champ several times. I can't follow any strategies either because the Ravenclaw champ always does something different to me than she does to others. I started off not knowing anything about chess though, so I guess I'm not horribly bad, you're just horribly good. To people who know chess and treat it like a second nature, I'm sure it's nothing, but it's quite frustrating for me.

Anyway, you play very well, not just for winning but you make your plays without thinking too long...

in tournament chess, you only have a certain amount of time to use for thinking about your moves. like 15 minutes to use troughout the match for example. the clock stops when you make a move and your opponent's clock starts. if you play like that, you learn to just make your move and not waste all your time so you can't think later in the match.

OMG dude YES! I finally beat that bitch of a cunt today. I didn't think it was possible for m! :P My strategy:

Priority #1. Take out the queen

Priority # 2. Make a sacrifice for a sacrifice (ex horse for a horse or horse for a bishop)

Once you focus on those 2 priority all you need to do is plan ahead and predict what the cpu is trying to do. Your pawns are a good last resort. I've managed to turn the tables twice by acquiring a king and winning

Basically take her queen at the beginning even if it means sacrificing yours. Once here queen is out she is way easier and makes dumb decisions like the other 2 did. Just keep trying till you take out the queen then play safe and you should get it within an hour.
